Frank Smith's Daylilies of Distinction
Are there any prettier daylilies than Frank's? I think not! Our club got his flowers for our 2006 Hybridizer Study. Frank and his assistant Tina Krull treated us very well. 28 cultivars and 47 plants after I divided some of them. Bridey Greeson is a single fan at present but I held her back from the...

How nice all of these are, thanks for sharing the daylily and the story of your daughter Natalie23. This passed bloom season was the one I enjoyed our daylilies the most so far. I had concentrated on hosta for about 3 years and my wife came off of being secretary for 2 years at Louisville Area Dayli...

New posts
There's often so many posts here I can't get to all of them at one sitting. But it seems I always lose the gold colored indicators after each session. Is that the default, is there a way to change it. A for instance, I log on and there are new posts in several areas, I only look at 3 or 4 then log o...

I've got my "Rig" up and running. Some years ago I bought a self propelled 9 hp leaf vac from Sears. The 4 cubic foot bag is no match for our yard. I changed it around over a few years and now the motor and mulching part rides on a dump cart. It has about a yard capacity or a little more. I use a pi...

Some of my iron, I have 17 tons of this which is antique cooperage equipment. It was used to make Bourbon barrels and since we live in the heart of the bourbon industry, it dovetails nicely here. Also our yard is as big as we have the energy to make it, up to 48 acres but that will never happen, it ...

Good to hear I picked both a good color and some new ones for you John. :D Balls of Lightning is a Joiner 28x5 MLRe Yellow Self, Amelia says it is beautiful. It was from our clubs recent sale and they had a pic but I don't remember looking at it. We got a few at the end that didn't sell and all the ...

Did they arrive in okay shape? Well I think they are okay, here they are at almost the end of the trip. I will leave them potted for a little bit but they will sink their roots in the Kentucky soil soon. :D I got to do this when I got home, Amelia was so happy and excited! I was too. Thanks Caliloo...

I cut mine back, washed them in bleach, I haven't seen any rust here, and a few weeks back when we were doing some for the club someone in the group said it wasn't even nessesary this time of year , but I did anyway. they are mostly dry wrapped in a sheet of newspaper. I'll never forget what and how...

The lantern is a Rankei lantern, and they are usually suspended out over water So I was on the right path with my thoughts any way, thanks. I have 3 more, but all of those are cast. None of them are like this one, they all stand on 4 legs. I really love them, I don't want to overdo a good thing. I'...
