That's his way of "camoflage"... takes on the appearance of a leaf!!! When birds etc. are around, they POSE! Usually they do this on branches but he may have thought making the move to the branch would be his "giveaway"..

Just a thought
Grunt... this just came to me and I don't know if it would apply HERE but..... Is there a way to inject a thin bead of InstaFoam, expanding foam sealant, between the ledger and your bricks? Dad used this stuff to seal "leak points" in his tiered water fall between the "steps" of rock that the water ...

BEAUTIFUL Dahlia !! I had some a few years back and then, for some unknown reason, didn't put any in my gardens again until this past summer. Well I screamed to move and the brug smack him backwards into the dolly on the way down. Next DH hit the ground and hand to the head where there was lots of blood! DS runs for the a towel I stop DH due to the white carpet and get towel to head. Got it stopped bleeding and Doctor Mom applies ointment...
