Maiden bloom. This very handsome fellow grew out of class, towering over all of the other IBs around him. Large-flowered, too.

Comet doesn't kill fungus and won't do a thing to help with leaf spot. It is of limited value in treatment of bacterial soft rot.

A dozen more photos for you this morning. This first one is one of my favorite MDBs. It has terrific color. Unfortunately, it's also just about my slowest increasing MDB. I think I've got less than half a dozen rzs out there, and I've been growing the doggone thing for 8 yrs!

I planted this particular rhizome in a full sun bed last summer, and to my surprise, this flower is significantly lighter purple than the clump from which the rz was taken in my less sunny bed. I don't know if it's the extra sunlight or a different soil chemistry that makes the difference, but I pre...

My irises are blooming so fast and furious now that I barely have time to run around taking pics. With these littleuns, depending on the weather, sometimes there's only an hour or two when they really look their best. Sometimes there are NO hours when they're at their best! So I'm in and out of the ...

Are you only interested in TBs, or are the smaller beardeds in the running, as well?
