Pic of red leaved plant for Jaspersail/any interested
Here is a pic of the whole plant that I found the red pigment in the leaves on. It has very little streaking on just a few leaves. the second one is nicely streaked. Jaspersail, had asked to see the whole plant. Sorry it took a few days, like everyone with this nice weather, been busy. The second one, the streaked one, still has not pushed that red leaf out. I am waiting, not so patiently. Will post a pic when it comes up better.

No, Reldon it just started to show on those leaves coming up now. That's why I thought it may have been something going wrong (rot/mold starting). Also why I asked the question if it could have been caused by an outside cause like the temps, lighting or something missing from the mix, nutrient wise. They are outside now, so I will know pretty quick if the weather will effect anything. Seedlings are so cool, it's like a science lab at home!

It is still got a little tinge of red on the tips, but new leaves are all green. It is in the ground, and was eaten up pretty well by the slug early on. I put down an application of deadline, and that along with the dry weather has kept the slugs at bay. I think, if the red ever appears again, it will be next spring as the leaves are starting to unfurl. I will look for it again, and see if it was a fluke or a spring trait. Thanks for asking about them! The streaked plant, with the red coming from the center, never did come up any further than in the pic above. The little red tip is no longer in there, and it did not put out any more leaves from the center. It did send some additional eyes up around from the outside of the plant, but no red on any of the leaves.
This so old that it is not news anymore, Herb Benedict had a plant with a red spot well into the leaf. He said maybe 12-15 years ago that red was in the leaf and would show up someday. Many at that time said it would never happen.

Nice ,but the colours shown on the leaf seem to me just a lack of P (.young leaves become purple)
Off course, I could be wrong (and I hope so)
