Rainbow's End
Mississippi Delta
Atlantis

I think some of my favorite new plants for this year include Mighty Mouse and Pure Heart, I'm really looking forward to seeing Roy Klehm grow up as I think this one has a lot of potential to be a great hosta, and after growing it over two full summers I really like Lakeside Old Smokey. Finally I can't forget to mention our two new intros - Heart's Delight and Wings of a Prayer. I'm a bit partial to those myself ;)

Would love to hear what everyone is getting or lusting after from wherever as it always helps me to keep up with things :)

I have ordered:
Ventricosa Aureomarginata (I had purchased it some years ago, and always suspected that it was not correct, but when it had fragrant light purple flowers, I knew it was wrong!)
Sutter's Mill (On the list for a couple of years now)
Roy Klehm...glad you like that one, Chris.
Spartacus
Punky
Stitch in Time
Tropical Storm
Rhino Hide
Devil's Advocate
Curly Fries
Gentle Giant
Awakening Angel
Cup of Grace

On my list to be considered are:
Big Kahuna
Brutus
King of Spades
Little Maddie
Tickle Me Pink
and
Super Nova..if the co-owned plant at my daughter's does not return this year. It got severely stomped last year by teens hanging out in her yard. :(

No doubt there will be many others that take my fancy!

Hi,
I have become really found of the 'Mouse Ears' family.
Last fall, I had two 'Mighty Mouse' that looked to be sporting to a real nice bright lemon gold. The plants have the substance of 'jaz', but better growth and the adorable ear leaves. The color is/was really striking.
They were to go in a special spot for winter protection. I think they just got thrown in the garden.
I hope they come through. I would imagine someone else will beat me on the registry.

Ripples and piecrust are always in for the discriminating.

I'm new here, and still fairly new to hostas, but I do already have a list compiled for this year of ones I hope to get...

June - Never rushed to get it because everyone seems to have it...but there's a reason everyone has it!
Liberty - The more I see this one, the more I like it. No, LOVE it.
Blue Ivory - Every image I've seen of it has been stunning. I hope it lives up to those images.
Heavenly Tiara - I love the Tiara hostas. Golden Tiara may be an older cultivar, but it's one of my faves in my garden. It needs a sibling!
Savannah Supreme - Pics at Hosta Library won me over. I want to give streaking a try.
Roy Klehm - What's not to like?
Torchlight - I'm won over by red petioles.
Gentle Giant - Ginormous with cupped, corrugated leaves and upright growth habit? Count me in!

Many of these selections are available at The Flower Factory, which is about an hour from my home. I'm pretty sure I'll be there on opening weekend picking out my hostas. Others I'll get here from Hallson's very soon.

Now, the challenge is going to be sticking with my list and my budget!

Why did I ask this question? I shouldn't buy any this year, but that's hard to do when you look at these lists. Sigh...
Thanks. I think.

You're welcome, Jo! I shouldn't buy any more either. I still have rows of plants out in the growing area to work into the hosta beds this year, and I'm wondering where I will put them all.
Add to that about a hundred or more seedlings from last year that will need to go in the ground.
Ah, but as I sit in front of the computer in the dead of winter, I find all of the reasons NOT to get new hostas easily dismissed.

Hosta (and gardening people in general) are nothing if not great enablers, right?

Jo - When do we come to truly not buying anymore hostas / plants :?: I've been giving away plants right & left for the past 2 years as everyone is so crowded here. And to make it worst all the hostas got huge last year with all those wonderful rains. I am not buying any more hostas!!!

I won 'Simply Sharon' on the AHS on-line auction so that is that for me. I have lusted after SS since 2005 National Hosta Convention when I saw her in Bob Kuk's garden. So there's nothing left to want now. And I had a 'Gunther's Prize' but it sported into everything - but GP. It grew quickly and got huge real fast tho. I think there may be one eye that is still GP - maybe! And I have Sally & Bob too. But then that new Rhino Hide is very interesting and our friend, Josh has it listed for sale. This is a serious situation.

Linda - You don't need anymore hostas either but you all ready knew that! You do have that whole farm yard to fill up yet though.

All these new plants are just so tempting. It's just not right! And I have a flat full of hosta seedlings under lights right now and 2 more packages of hosta seeds to sow soon. I only saved seeds from my 'Galaxy' & 'Galaxy II' this year. That was pretty good but of course, 'Sally & Bob' just plain didn't bloom last summer.

Today I saw 3 Robins hoping around & the daffodils are poking up now that the snow drifts are going, going, gone! And the pelicans are migrating. Spring must finally be on the way. Yipppee :!:

I'm new on here, but I thought I would just jump right in. I have a shade garden and hosta collection as well as hundreds of perennials, partly as a result of having worked at a garden center for decades. (Not sure if it's a passion or an obsession!) I only have maybe 200 varieties of hostas, some 300 plants, but I am always looking for more. My list for this spring includes:
Empress Wu
Funky Monkey
Niagara
Clausa Stolonifera (to naturalize in my woods)
Grey Ghost
Ringtail
Ebony Towers
Purple Lady Fingers
Gilt by Association
War Paint
Spinach Patch

And I've already acquired another batch bareroot from that nursery I work for, as I potted them up;
Kiwi full Monte
Hanky Panky
Color Glory
High Society
Barbara Ann
And a couple of other blue ones I can't remember at the moment.

Now I'm just waiting for spring so I can get them into the garden!

I'm hoping to replace a couple of favorites that have failed to return.

Lakeside Shore Master
Thunderbolt
Captain Kirk
Great Expectations (I know it's a hard one but I love it)
Shade Fanfare
Earth Angel
and possibly a couple more. Still waiting on a few, those above never came back last year. I do have my fingers crossed on Lakeside Shore Master, I'm hoping I just over looked it last year, wasn't in the garden much so it is possible.

I would like to at least add Liberty. I've wanted that hosta for years.

If I was to lose Lakeside Shore Master and Earth Angel I would definitely replace those too. I could never grow Great Expectations, though ...
