I hope they grow great for you :) Remember that this time of year you are looking at last year's roots, so they might not knock your socks off right out of the box but should put on some great growth this summer. Well, that Spilt Milk should impress - it was a division taken last year from a 6 year old plant ;)

Happy planting!

My journal came today...woohoo!

I'm waiting for my order in early May. It's a small order, but I just added a couple to it. Since my card isn't charged until the order ships, it's very tempting to add more and more, but...I must resist. Two hosta auctions to go to this year plus the regional convention my club is hosting mean plenty of hostas in my future. :D

Hi Karen, I checked out your Blog, it is great! I wish I had started my shade garden years before I did, but we were busy moving into our property and getting settled. Then it toook Grandkids and I three summers to rake all the rocks out of my trees ( we are on an old rock quarry) And what I knew about gardening was almost nil. So I have learned, you know two steps forward four steps back. NOw I am on my own but my darned arthritis is giving me fits and the weather is crazy as a loon this year. So we will see how it goes. Our place is about like yours, the same growing conditions I think. I love it!!! And I love the help I get from these folks, they are fun and very knowledgable.. I am also learning about this machine, I also love it!! So now I will wait patiently( yeah right) for my order and my Journal. :D

Thanks, Rosemarie! I find the blog is a great way to spend my time, learn new things, and share some of the things I've learned. Sooner or later I'm going to run out of things I actually know, so that means I have to keep learning and experimenting and gardening. It's a good system. ;)

I love the hosta community, too. Of course, when I got The Hosta Journal today I realized (once again, as if I need a reminder) just how much I have to learn. But I can give myself a break, because I've only been actively growing hostas for a couple years, and most of my collection went into the ground last year. I'm a newly-minted hostaholic, as it were.
