Connie....good to see you posting again:)

We know what a difficult time you are having with the loss of your sister. You are still in our thoughts and prayers, and for your mom too.

Your love of garden is the joy of your life (well besides those precious grankids), wishing you blessings of peace out in your gardens. Not that gardening in Iowa has been all tranquility this year! Sit down on one of your beautiful benches and take a breather :)

I've finally had to decide that I'm not going to make it this year.
My gas money is going on trips to Peoria to see my brother, and then there's the wedding in my husband's family. I really do need to be there.
I had already sent in my registration for the MRHS convention, so I'll hope to see some of you then.

Linda....we truly understand your situation this year. Our thoughts are with you during this trying time. I am sure you are really busing right now, with your brother and the rest of your family.

The door to the gardens is always open, so anytime you can come, you would be welcomed.

We do hope to see you at the Midwest :)

Linda,

So disappointed you can't be with us for the Hallson Reunion. I can empathize. I have never able to attend one before this year due to work & life, etc.

We will be thinking of you & I am really looking forward to hanging out with you at the MWR Hosta Convention.

See you soon.

The count down is on...one week until the Get Together!

We are getting so excited to see everyone. Gardens are looking good, hostas have just loved all the rain.
There has been no hard pouring rain this week so the mulch has stayed in the flower beds.

Judi great to hear that you have some guests coming with you.

Kathleen, so sorry you will have to miss out coming to Pella. I was hoping to see Willie. He is the cutest little dog. We hopefully will get to meet another time.

Would like to remind every one, to please bring lawn chairs, bug spray ( we do have a few of them) and hostas if you wish to be in the trade.

See you next week :)

I'm getting excited too, Trudy. :P I seem to be going thru hosta convention withdrawal today. :???: I've been out weeding in the gardens all day. Not quite the hectic pace I was on a week ago. I know I need the down-time, but apparently I'm a hosta~adrenaline rush junkie. :o Good thing I'll be getting my hosta~fix again next weekend.

I & Jo talked last night and really are looking forward to coming down and seeing everyone again. It is so much fun to share stories with people that don't look at you and think you are crazy for having all those hostas. I was out weeding in the newer bed today and doing damage assessment on what the moles are doing. I almost got one with the spade if I would of had a gun it would have been dead. We both really did a hosta fix. Just trying to find something for the trade that doesn't have holes in it. Maybe I will have to hosta shopping before next week. Only problem is there are not many places around me that have any thing special for such a special group of people to trade with.
Until next Saturday :D

I'm so excited about the weekend - 2 big days of Hosta Fun :!: (Hallson Reunion) (ROHS Summer Tour)

I had to go to a family reunion Sunday (long story).
I just wanted to be home getting the garden ready for guests.
What gets done :!: - gets done :!: & what don't - doesn't :!:
So if you all spy any weeds while you're here, please pull them

The deer breezed through Thursday night, chomped off several hosta blooms, phlox, devoured 'Flower Power' & nibbled a few other hosta leaves
They also tromped on several plants breaking & crushing the petioles.
They could atleast watch their step :!:

I came home from work Friday afternoon, sprayed 'Deer Off', sprayed Sevin, watered containers, then it was dark & time for bed.
No supper again :!:

Poor neighbor, David sustained major deer damage:evil:
I heard he & Trudy were herding a young buck around the neighborhood the other evening.

My poor garden has had a hard time this year:
First, Forst & Feeze :frosty: then new shigles for our roof, next Ron cleaning & restaining the house siding, repeated deer damage, too much rain, now it's dry.
But still the garden is beautiful & we are really looking forward to the Hallson Reunion.
See you all soon

Marlys - your gardens always look wonderful no matter what has happened to them. So stop stressing!! :D And so will Trudy's & David's & Connie's. :P The gardens are great, but we're all gardeners so we understand. And we're there to see the people as much as the gardens. :D

I can't wait to see everyone again too!! :P

After today's day from he(( at work  - I'd like to just fast forward to Friday. I told people that it was a Yes it can!! day. Can this day get any worse?? Yes it can!! :???: :x

At least I have functioning internet again today. Not so much last evening... Now I just need a nice stiff scotch and water. And the water is optional.
