Striptease, sun question

How is it handling full midday/afternoon sun ?

Mine was planted in a very shaded area many years ago and have been very slow, now I am moving and want to know if itcan handle sun...
It will be moved in the fall... so it will (maybe) wake up in the sun

My 4 year old Striptease is easily as vigorous as Gold Standard or any other Hyacinthina derivative, sorry to hear yours is a slow-poke. I had it in open shade for 3 years and had to move it into the sun this year because otherwise my dogs would have munched on most of the leaves over the course of the summer. It's in a planter, so that was easy to do. Two things you have to be aware of: #1 it will be quite a bit lighter in colour than what you are accustomed to and #2, be prepared to water frequently.

It was planted in the deep shade..caurse they were sold as shade plants here
´Took a while before I realised... think I had to be on this forum 1 or 2 years, there were something called sun intensity and latitude

For the first 4 years it went from one to 3 eyes, slim eyes you know, now it is a biggie...

Ny new home have frontgarden limits...fact they have to be none/low, border/hedge, but in real life they have to be nice
Plan is to plant some huge daylillies with some very sun tolerant hostas up front and then an open fence...need a fence...
1) I am Dane
2) Like privacy
3) Have a dog who is used to limits and not listening at all She will stay home if there is no better place for goodies

So my plan is to plant a row of daylillies sprayed with springbulbs and a S+S and a S+S sport (green with a narrow yellow edge- like others) and then plant Striptease in the middle.. it is one of my all time favórites
Behind the line I will have a open fence made by (cut in triangels from top down) armending iron and wooden poles with clems and a climbing rose and then on the garden side... my garden
First plan was to make it Chelsea style...double with wine botles in between ...and maybe a seat somewhere
... but it is my new garden area...and I better try to behave
but.... who knows

Wish I had more time to figure outh what and where... but it is not a possibillity... have to make the big lines in my head and then fill out

I'd say Striptease is more tolerant of bright light than most. As noted, the center will get lighter sooner... unlike some hostas, I haven't found the leaves to be smaller in brighter light than full shade... and the plant will be larger and more vigorous in bright light.

not a ticket anywhere and a lot of anouncements about people who have told other´s it was good and it to be the reason it was sold out in 12 minutes... noncens I belive... darn sure it is most of us, who heard him in on of the 2 open air concerts who want to hear it again... and this time it is in an small place

Lots of adds for bying, but none for selling... have to fight this time

I moved ST from my old garden where it received bright light and a little direct sun - got huge FAST and color was fabulous. In its new home, it is directly under a conifer with NO direct light and though not as big, the colors are richer. STILL a nice hosta!

So Striptease, my SS sport ( gren with a yellow edge- like the rest of them ) and Royal Standard wil be in front of the fence to build... all afternoon sun ( West) ... but Nordic
And then some daylillies and a lot of bulbs

Strange... it is the only area I have any idea of.... getting the new house the 1.

One of my Striptease has grown in almost full sun for over 5 years...and it is one of my best looking hosta. In sun it has grown faster IMHO.

Hi Pia - it sounds like you have one very large project on your hands!! I hope you get all of your garden plans worked out, but you can always move everything 2 or 3 times after the fence is built. GOOD LUCK!!
