Clematis Care and Shaping
Here is my Duchess of Edinburgh. I haven't done any pruning since I first purchased her, but now she is all wood on the bottom and getting a bit tall for the the porch. She is nearly ready to bloom. How much should I prune and should I do it right after blooming is done?

Second request for when and how much to prune this Clemmie. Here is a recent pic of one of the flowers, too.

Thi si sthe BEST site I have ever found for clemmie info. Hopefully you can get the scoop here.
Clematis on the Web

She seems to be a group 2 (light prune), deadwood only in the spring. That said, to get her shorter and bushier, I woudl probably hack it down to about 2 - 3 feet next spring, but that is me.....
