Hi! Here's the recipe of honey-dew or honey-sweet (in french, it's miellé). It will attract butterflies at night and at day. You can put it on a tree, on a piece of wood, etc...

Ingredients:
1 cup of molasses
1/2 cup of wine vinegar
1/2 beer
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of ripe sweet fruits (banana, grape, melon, honeydew, plum: the may be kept in the freezer untill you need them)

Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix untill homogeneous consistancy. If needed, boil up the mixture untill good consistancy. You can keep the honey-dew in the freezer in a ice-cubes trays.

One trick: One half hour before the sunset, put the honey-dew. One hour after the sunset, with a flash light, in beginning under the place where you put the honey dew, trough light on . Than slowly, move up towards the honey dew. You will have a surprise! The day after, there will be day butterflies at the same place.

I have found that the more yellow blooms you have in your garden the more butterflies. Almost eny kind of flower they can land on they like. My neighbor grows stinging nettles and they like that a lot, then they come by my garden. And that is a good thing.
