Found this one earlier in spring when I was weeding. Was going to post and see what you all think but then forgot about it. Until last wkend when we were working on the fence to keep the rabbits out. Let me know if you have any ideas - I thought maybe plume poppy (Macleaya cordata). Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Take a look ~ it's the one with the scalloped leaves near the lily seedlings.
Plume poppy would get my vote. They spread like crazy! Pull it up and see if the rhizome breaks off, oozes orange juice all over your fingers, and the plant grows back without missing a beat... that will cinch it.
I've seen a weed before that looks like that - it seeds out all over the place and when you pull it up the root has that orange juice like Iboy mentioned. But is Plume Poppy something different, or there is another plant out there with the same common name?
Macleaya cordata ( plume poppy) has a similar leaf, but what you show there is not the right leaf. My vote is that it isn't macleaya cordata but a lookalike.
Celandine poppy! That one seeds out all over the place. I've seen where people planted it on purpose but in the gardens where I've seen it growing wild it was a pest!
You know, I thought of celandine (wood poppy) when I first saw the picture, but I went out and looked at some in the garden (not hard to do, as they do seed all over), and the leaves didn't look right for your plant. Your plant's leaves are more rounded, multi-lobed, and probably thicker. Celandine is almost thistle-like, with sharper-pointed leaves. I guess we'll soon know, as it grows and flowers very quickly. Give us a followup.

You're right IBOY the leaves are a little different than celadines. At first when you all responded plume poppy, I thought oh no!! better pull it out. Now I've decided to let it grow and see what it becomes. But I doubt that I will let it go to seed... I'll post a picture again so you can see later.
Thanks everyone. Jeanne
O.K., I promise this is my last post on your plant. I just realized the celandine (wood poppy) in my garden is the CHINESE celandine, Stylophorum lasiocarpum (I thought that sounded a little esoteric for a native), while your plant IS, I think, the native celandine, the lesser celandine, S. diphyllum. Duh! They say my Chinese celandine is much less prolific, so God help you, as mine seeds all over.
