Thanks for sharing!!

That is a beautiful flower. I am always so sad when they are done blooming. Columbines are like true art in nature!! I do have a question though, do you snip the stalk that carried the bloom or leave it? Also, is this where it will begin to self-seed from? Thanks!

I hear you about purple Lucy! I bought 3 mixed columbine last year, and soon I'll see that the majority of 2 of them are purple, if not completely! Love purple, but geepers!

Hi Jennysunshine!! Welcome to Hallson's!!
In answer to your question, the stalk that carries the blooms is where the seeds will be......Caution, they reseed lots, but I like a lot......Also, the next years plant won't bloom that year, but will the year after.....Just yesterday, I cut most of mine down at that stalk where the flowers were....I left a few for seeds.....Would you like some when they are ready?

I love the Blue and White Columbines also. Mine is not as full as yours. May be next year it will be. It's done blooming for this year already.

The Blue and White is called the v. 'Winkie Blue and White.
We deadhead ours here to keep them blooming for a while. Then when it gets really hot we cut them back and in the fall they return!

I would love some. I didn't know that you could get them to rebloom. I thought that once they were finished that was it. Do they rebloom simply because of where you live or is that not the issue?
