My New Friend! NOT!!!

I was trimming the Rose of Sharon at the curb yesterday when this caught my eye
at the top of the branch. It was holding on for dear life. Not a good bug!! The
banded alder borer, Rosalia funebris, is a member of the very diverse family of longhorn beetles.

Now where is the option for a photo??

We would see a relative to this guy burrowing into the dying oak tree in our hosta area. Huge!

They say that they show up when they smell paint. NO one is painting here.
Not something I want in the garden.

They say they can wipe out a whole forest so it is contained.
