New Bird

He's the new bird in town. Actually, there's a whole flock of them.

OK, after doing some research, I think my sweet little bird friends are juvenile Juncos. I'm just used to seeing them with dark heads.

I think that's what I have here, Peg. My research says the juveniles have some striping (adults are solid) and gray heads (females can have gray heads, too, but the slight striping on this guy makes me think they're juveniles). So, yes, cool for me, too! This one's new to me. And they're just going nuts out here today, along with the very fat, well-fed Chickadees.

Yes Doris that is exactly what they are - I like seeing the juvies and their grey heads - cute!!

Woo hoo! Thanks for confirming that, Maggie! It's nice to hear from someone local. It's exciting, for me, to discover these new things as the seasons change (new birder that I am).
