Dori,
I think I posted this somewhere else on this forum, but who cares ... I love to post the list! Makes me happy and scared at the same time to think about them.
You know why they make me happy! But a little scared, cause I don't where to put them. I will be working hard this spring to make new areas for them.
Taaa Daaa Here they are ... My Newbies!
All are from the LA.
Jamaican Me Happy - cause I think it will make me happy. I like the color combination.
Victorian Lace - enough said.
Magic Lake - I need colors other than pink.
Lee Pickles - love the double edge.
OVER ACHIEVER - red eye and edge - good breeder
Sink Into Your Eyes - got if for a good price.
HINT OF HARMONY - kind of a double edge. Rose edge/no eye.
HEAD TURNER- red eye and edge - good price.
Ida Belle deBoer - hate the name - paid through the nose - love the pink eye and edge
ONLY THE LONELY - a Rice daylily - a mid/late bloomer
LONDON CALLING - a nice pink from trimmer
FLAMENCO CHRISTMAS - red double, want to cross it with my few doubles
INNOCENT BLUSH - a nice large pink from Stamile
MOMENT IN THE SUN SMITH - GRACE 2005 INTRO - enough said, except too bad it is supposed to be hard to set pods on. But I will be putting its pollen on almost everything.
I have a trade planned for about 3 more, but trades have a way of not happening, so I won't post those till it happens.
And the bonuses .... OMG, where to put them!
I fell in love with my Little Red Dragon Daylily last year, and just had to order more red eye/edge daylilies. Hope to make some crosses from those too.

OUCH - now you are making me face up to my obsession but here goes - all of these were from the auction where I basically stole them. It was a long winter and I had time to make sure I got a bargain.
ORCHID OCTOPUS - Lambertson, unusual form
FUJITANI - Longo, unusual form
TROPICAL NIGHTS - Smith
FORESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN - Harding
ALICIA ROSE KISSED - Quarry
AMERICAN FREEDOM - Smith
CRYSTELLE'S LOVE - Smith
LONE WOLF - Smith
NANCY BILLINGSLEA - Stamile
WINTER CONCERTO - Salter
LET LOOSE - Stamile, unusual form
WHITE NOISE - Trimmer
FOX HUNTER - Trimmer
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION - Carpenter
This batch I got off the Region 2 fundraiser auction.
BODACIOUS BLUSH - Buntyn
COLOR SURGE - Morss
This batch is coming from the hybridizers.
STRANGER THAN PARADISE - Morss, unusual form
SPACECOAST DREAM CATCHER - Kinnebrew
PAULA NETTLES - Kinnebrew
These I got from Trimmer, who did the conversions.
tet SEAL OF APPROVAL - Santa Lucia/Trimmer
tet SKINWALKER - Roberts/Trimmer, spider
All of these already have the crosses planned for them and they are different genetics than what I currently have on the premises. Many of these are from newly converted diploids. Now if the weather will cooperate, I will be knee deep in seeds by Labor Day. Next winter I expect to see pics of ALL these new purchases blooming for us.

You have good taste Lucy. I only have LAVENDER STARDUST and LILTING LAVENDER on your list and highly recommend them. Others on your list that I have seen but don't have are LAKE NORMAN SPIDER, KAREN'S CURLS, ORCHID CORSAGE, PINK SUPER SPIDER and MAD MAX.
Candelabra means good branching on a scape.
I see a pattern here in your "likes". The only one of your list that isn't my taste would be MISS JESSIE. You have picked unusual form type blooms and I don't know if MJ would be big enough to suit you and very static instead of having movement to it.

Dori, I'm in on that John Peat deal too. So add that one to my list.

You are getting some beauties! Michael Miller for one, and spiney sea urchin for another.
Do you have your crosses planned already also like Jaydee and Ed?
Now, LucyGoose, I was so proud of you, only getting one and it is a wonderful one at that. Then you go and plan on buying a bunch more.

I can't say anything though, I was only going to get 3 this year.

Sorry, I can't comment on your choices, except pink super spider. But it bloomed for the first time last year and was big and beautiful, I got it the year before. I hear lots of good things and love the pictures I see of Lake Norman.
Jaydee, All of the Smith daylilies you are getting are beautiful. But I hear they don't do super well in the north, so I hesitate to get them at the higher prices. I may be zone 6 on the map, but I think I'm zone 5 for daylilies.
I like the 2 trimmers you got, are you the one that outbid me on White Noise?
Ed, I have always liked the look of SPACECOAST KRINKLES.
Lots of spiders and UF on everyone lists this year. Sorry guys, you have to convince me a little bit more in this area.

Sharon this is the UF that convinced me.
Rob Cobb, Webster
I was not a fan of spiders or uf's either until I saw them bloom in my own garden, now I may be hooked.
I bought a few a couple of years ago to give the flower beds a little different look, wow never expected the impact they would have, "forget maybe" I'm hooked, sigh
ROB COBB, The flower is hugh, taller than most, the first time it bloomed it was like a beacon drawing you from afar to come take a look. My non gardner wife even commented on the pretty new flower by the gazebo.
Rob Cobb is also proved to be very fertile.
Christmas Ribbon is the second daylily pictured, whats not to like? I did not get it to set pods, but I will. I did use the pollen on a few, but I have so very few plants to cross it with that I expect little.
The last one is of one of my seedlings, no planning here neither, parent is shaped anything like it. I crossed it to Rob Cobb pollen and pod, mostly because I had nothing else that would make any sense, that will not be the case this year though.

tma - t"wasn't me that outbid you - you made me feel guilty so I checked but you weren't in the mix. I got mine against a guy that also sells on the auction and if he thought it was a bargain, I went for it. I absolutely love the width of those petals! If I recognize someone's name on the auction, I won't bid against them.
gramush - what are we going to do about tma not liking spufs? When my hubby got the addiction, he ordered most of the plants. I loved the big, round, ruffled ones and hated the pictures of the spufs but when LONGSTOCKING bloomed the first time I was hooked. You could see it from 20' away, it swayed in the breeze, dancing on tall scapes.
And then SPIDER MIRACLE kicked in and it was a full blown addiction.
And then you have this one, dancing and laughing in the breeze, FREE WHEELIN'
Nope I love them but I also love the big full forms, the minis and oh yes, all of them in between.

notmartha,
I've been thinking a little about what I want to cross. I've only come up with one that I think is a must.
My cross (Reason for Treason x John Peat) x Innocent Blush. That is if Innocent Blush blooms for me.
I think I have to think harder.
