The first one is from my mom. She's had it for years. :D I've had it for years.

The second one is Ola Kala. Mike made me buy it! :o :D

The last one has never bloomed for me before. I think my neighbor might have given it to me but I can't say for sure. The standards are pale lavender. It smells like licorice or anise. Thanks for telling me to smell them, Mike. :D

Great pics! And don't you just love OK? It is such an intense yellow. It really holds it's own in the garden even after all this time. I love it with other bold toned irises of any color, but soft, subtle shades are just lost near it. I'll bet it looks great with both of these. :)

Thanks. :D

Roni, I had never seen Ola Kala in person either. I had only seen Mike's pic and the pic in Superstition's Photo Album. :)

Mike, I do love OK. I bought it for DH. I never even thought about how good they look together. They are all in different beds, back, front, and side. I'll have to do something about that.

LucyGoose, Yes I got it from Superstition. 8-) I sent you the link to their Photo Album and their e-mail addy. I have the current catalog if you need me to look anything up for you.

Oh dear, I'm feeling the rumblings of another addiction being born. Ola Kala looks to be a great yellow!

And the Iris are beautiful. The purple one yu marked 004, must have had great genes. I got mine from my mother who got it from her mother and goodness KNOW how many times it's been divided. Always comes back full and pretty.

The Yellow one is an OUTSTANDING picture because yellows are so hard to photograph. They either seen to go white or pale. GREAT JOB there. Nice to have an Iris FIX when ours are now all gone.....

Thanks OC. :D I got the purple one from my mother too. I'm not sure but I think she got it from my grandfather. It sure is a good grower.

My camera completely refuses to photograph true red, and hates things too close to it as well. Always just get a blob of color. It is time to upgrade the camera.

 LucyGoose always teases me because my macro shots are always blurry.

I don't think the purple iris is quite true in color. What I saw in the lcd screen was not the same as what I saw with the naked eye.

I know, Pat, I know

BTW, my camera does lousy purples, but the reds are OK :???:
