My old Natural Orange Old Time Daylily.
Now that I have my Camera back I hope to show you some of the beautiful Daylilies this Old Coot has his year.

He dug up a pot full of these from his driveway last fall and planted them in a big pot on his deck, where they sure do look pretty................

What a beautiful Daylily. BUT taking this picture cost O.C.a large amount of skin, 2 banged knees and the skin off his forehead when he plowed a new furrow. (He's O.K.now, but sure sore this week-end. HAD to take this picture, didn't like the angle, so bent over closer. BAD MOVE. O.C. is not real steady on his feet anyway, that is why he is suppose to uses his cane in the yard (NOT ThiS tIme) Fell face down sliding on his elbows as he went. Daylilies sure do look funny looking up at them. O.C. lay there for about 20 minutes trying to think of SOMEWAY to get up, without telling Joy. Bad knees wouldn't let him. So he went to his last resort. He called for his dear sweet loving wife to come help him. She wasn't sweet at all that day (well deserved it-Boy she lost her cool-don't ever want to see THAT side of her again .She told him that if she eve found him like that again, the flowers disappear at the heat she's lay on him. (He is sure she mean't it too) To make amends he let her go to a mountain retreat last week-end with here RedHat friends although with a firm admonishment, He was not to seed foot in the yard, unless the house was on fire, and she better see some ashes. She love O.C. though, wsan't mad at him when she got home, even brought him a new Rhododendon. O.C. loves to talk. A very Penitant O.C.  :bd: :bd:

O.C. forgot to tell you

Post by oldcoot »

all these pisctures were made with an Instamatic, before his Camera got back. This Stella bed was absolutely unbelievable. Last fall O.C. rounded up ALL the Stella's he had scattered around the yard and in pots and made them the centerpiece of his new Daylily bed. They bloomed first and some are still blooming, but most have taken a summer break. Tis is the most Stella's O.C has ever had blooming in one place before. Will not TOUCH this bed..

That'ss wsht I have decided to do

Post by oldcoot »

I'll only be out in the yard if someone is with me, or I am in my cart. O.C. is getting so unstable on his feet, he thinks it is time to listern to someone who loves him.

John, thanks for your concern...........

O.C. has never had any RED Daylilies before, but he sure likes the ones he has this year. Judging from the fact that they are on both sides of the bed, I would bet they came from the "grab" bag we bought last year at he local D-L show.

And yes, I am well in tow, in my dear sweet loving wifes hand.........and intend to stay that way. John
