Mary Ann!!!! I'm so sorry to hear about your car. Glad you made it to the wedding on time, though! Yes, you did look darn cute in the braid! Sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye.
I missed out on the night on the town. I was stuck behind that table. Someone did ask me if I was going to dance on it later, though. Not likely.
I got a measly white ribbon for my seedling. Not my best one, just one that didn't have too many damaged leaves.
It was neat to have two forum members taking home top prizes in the Midwest Preview.
Hostadad got a blue ribbon on his first-ever entry in a leaf show for a great-looking War Paint leaf.
It was a really fun time, and I agree with Eric...it's hard to get back into the home routine after such a great weekend.
Oh, and I JUST MISSED Kim, Lisa and Andy and the Solbergs at Roxannes.

The convention was so much fun. Cant even put all the excitement into words. We did come up with a new word during the convention, with all the hostas that were around us, the vendors, leaf show, seedling show, tours, and the auction, hosta friends, we felt as if we were on a big "Hosta Drunk". After leaving the activities each day we had a "Hosta Hangover"! It's so much fun, and you learn so much from the sharing of knowledge from other hosta growers, and hybridizers.
Sorry to hear about you car to MaryAnn, didnt get to say goodbye to you either. Loved your story about the dress you were going to wear to the wedding.
Nice to see also, all the ribbons winners. Keep up the good work.
Love the introductions of the h. Mango Tango and h. Stitch in Time. Good thing Eric brought those MT ,(by the way love the first story on MT), since so many people were there to buy his findings. The three year old SIT, was really neat to see. Also it was great to meet Rob Mortko who brought his mature plant. Glad he brought h. Lakeside Coalminer Stk. for the auction.
Now Eric where are you to be finding mint in the winter?
Maybe Jeron (sp) will be coming and can bring some from Holland............by the way has anyone heard from him, since he left?
The whole experience of the convention cannot even be put into words

I was really excited to get so many positive comments from the judges at the Midwest Preview!
The plant that got the blue ribbon for me was previously posted here, and the sharp eye of Jeroen picked it out, as I was not featuring it in the post about my speckled edge seedling and he asked about it. It's at the top of this picture.
The comments were they loved the vibrant color, the upright habit, and the white backs, and the great substance, with the pink petioles as an added bonus.
It will flower in about a week.
Mr Leafmould (Jim Spence) sent me pollen samples 3 years ago and I only got a little bit to take on some crosses, but one of them was on Cinnamon Sticks. I don't know what his "Big Gold" looks like but it is a cross of Montana Aureomarginata x Elatior.
Jim, do you gave a picture of the pollen parent?

I really hate to admit it but I all ready begged Dr. Dave for an eye of his sdlg. It is totally awesome.
But Dr. Dave was the one seen down on one knee in front of a fair damsel seated in the lobby of the hotel. Don Deane saw it too!

Help! I'm buying hostas & I can't stop!
