Show Me your Lakeside Kaleidoscope
In ViolaAnn's thread, some of you said you really like this one. I've seen a few nice ones, but to me it looks like a dozen other green and white ones. What makes it worth keeping? (Mine got mixed with some albo marginatas and got Freecycled).

I really like it! I have mine right in front of/between nigrescens and my Krossa Regal sport 'Regal Flame'. I have more shade here, so my L. Kaliedoscope has a lot more blue/grey tones than those pictured. It really sets off the big upright blue/grey hosta...and you can sort of borrow that empty space under the skirts of the big ones! Always fresh looking.

Mine was gorgeous for the first 3 years. Every year since then, it comes up looking fabulous, and then within a month or so goes downhill until it just looks awful by August. I moved it 2 years ago, and was hoping it would do better in the new spot. I think it did look better last year, maybe because the move set it back enough so it thinks it's a kid again.

Mine was a dream for 2 years
then half undulata looking, melting down and even with some tearing...

I loved it the first years
Think it have ideal placement and sooil... morning and mid-late afternoon sun and clay with compost and grit....

I think it has been downgraded on my wish list to the point where I'm unlikely to buy it. Was also thinking that many of those pics looked a lot like undulata A.

LS Kaleidoscope
My LSK was another big disappointment in the garden. I was going to throw it away but my neighbor took it home. It got tattered leaves by mid-season & was, well, nothing special.

trudy i know that...long time ago my neighbour wanted vinca ninor.. it was a weed in my garden, but could not grow in hers.. think she got more than 20 cuttings and 20 clumbs.. next year we chatted at the intrance of the gardens...and you culd see a line in the commom bed.. mine had vinca and a lot of them but they never crossed the line to her garden more than a few inches... cant telll you why ...and still do not understand
Have any of you tried to treat it like Ginko Graig, divided, split. and kept as a small clumb.. or is it a bad idea
sure is some extra work
It is so beautiful... when it preforme
Yardmom... what a great pic
showing how beautiful it can be and the reason this plant can have 2 treads running for so long

I really like the feathering in this one also! Found and old pic from '04.

And here is a pic that shows where I have it planted, under/in front/between a big nigrescens and Krossa Regal. The L. Kaleidoscope is in the lower right. This pic really shows the feathering well.
