Re: Upside Down Planters

Felony or misdemeanor  ????? Who will pay my bail?? What can I say? I am learning and thought experimentation might be a good thing. I do have to say that there is no problem with weeds in the upside down planters, and I'm not seeing any insect damage. Did you see all the grass growing around t...

Re: Upside Down Planters

I think maybe a breeze carried some roundup to the plant. DSCN0319 cherry tom leaf damage resized.jpg Now it is getting normal...

Re: red valerian

I seem to recall I had it in my garden one summer but I see it no more. A friend has a white flowered valerian which she says grows everywhere in her garden, which tends to be shady, rich and damp. She says it smells wonderful. Wish I could help.

Re: Deer with good taste

They ate the tops of my blue baloon flowers and the top of my Mrs Black Dahlia.... but nothing else, and I too live in a city! I'm hoping the balloon flowers will send out side shoots with more buds, otherwise they won't be blooming at all this year. :(

Re: Must see hosta/plant sights on our journey

I'm about an hour and a half east of Lansing if you want to stop by, but be forewarned: my house is a hardhat zone, esp during gardening season! :D Not that my gardens are much to look at, but there is a great restaurant in town in you like creative meals. OH and White Lake Herb Farm is a wond...

Re: Some small "blues"

I just got BME from Chris and have been wanting it for... well, forever it seems. One of the things I love about it is the rounded leaves, so similar in shape to mouse ears. It is cute as a bug's ear! Now, what shape would THAT be??

Second request for when and how much to prune this Clemmie. Here is a recent pic of one of the flowers, too.
