THEY DO??? But they haven't bothered mine up to this point. Maybe the chives scared them off.JaneG wrote: But I use a deterrent spray on the tomatoes and peppers because the deer and the rabbits enjoy those.

Re: I gave away five or six of daylilies...
I can't keep up with my flower beds. Those daylilies were getting overtaken by the grass anyway. Now we can mow the grass down without crying about the daylilies. Gardening is becoming painful for me. I'm going to be doing more container gardening so I don't have to weed. http://img.photobucket.com/...

Finished planting my veggie garden today
Ha! Ha! I planted four Better Boy tomato plants back there with the Better Belle green pepper. That's my veggie garden along with a row of chives. I can't grow cukes or squash because the deer always eat the blossoms.

I gave away five or six daylilies...
I gave away all my Ruby Stella and Lavender Blush daylilies today. My daughter dug them up for me. She'll keep the Lavender Blush and give the others to friends. I'm downsizing and putting grass in the bare spots. I almost gave away my dwarf dogwood, but chickened out.

If they always get brown in the middle, I think I made a huge mistake buying so many of them.

That's beautiful! Will you grow clematis on it? Or use it for potted plants?

Million Bells (Calibrachoa) Question
My hanging basket already looks nasty. I'm starting over. Do I water only when it has gone completely dry and should I water until it drips from the bottom?

Very unique combinations! I love to grow parsley in pots, too, mostly to watch the Black Swallowtail
caterpillars that crawl on them. They are so pretty! I'll have to take a photo this year.

Wow! How wonderful to have had a rose for so long. I never lived in one place that long! Our oldest daughter just bought a Peace rose. I've admired them for years.otnorot wrote:Peace.
Mine is now 46 years old and still loaded with blooms.

Should I buy those styrofoam cones? If not, how do you get the leaves to stay around them? And do you prune climbers so you can cover them?

Anyone have blue star creeper?
I bought a flat of this this evening and want to plant it along one edge of our patio. Is there any way to keep the grass out?
