The East Coast wasn't the only place where there were submarines! We had the Japanese Subs off the West Coast too, but we didn't know it . We had Black-outs, when the Air Raid sirens went off if your lights din't go out an air raid warden would bang on your door and yell at you to 'Turn the lights o...

Karma, maybe we have 'sprung' into Spring! We are finally getting some warm rain (which we need) and I have lots of Camellias blooming in my trees. and my ornamental cherry is in full bloom. It might cool a little, but I don't expect a freeze but then again, who knows, this is Oregon!! And the weath...

Re: who has come over from the old GW?
HI all! I am not sure how I got here, but I see alot of familiar names so i guess I am in the right place! Also I see Chris, that helps. We have had an Early spring (like all winter) Our mountains have almost no snow (not good) so we are very apt to have fire danger like crazy this summer. And all t...

Jim, you brought back some great memories! As I am sure I have mentioned before ,in the 60's we always had a houseful of teenagers and the New Christie Minstrals were favorites, including all the songs you mentioned. That music is still the greatest! I never get tired of it. Do you remember "They're...

Re: The weirdest summer ever
'Camelot' is what I called this year too! It seemed to fit, then we had about a week of nights about 23 degrees (very unusual for us) and eastern Oregon had a load of snow, but here in Western Oregon-zero, just COLD! Now is supposed to start raining. And we got just enough wind to de-leaf all my tre...

It's been windy and rainy all day, not cyclonic and gushy, but definitly noticeable! At least it will clear all the leaves, I think!

Re: CarolO, check in please!!
All the heavy weather seems to be mostly missing us , but we have had rain! My 'almost all' brown lawn is now green again, the wind is dropping the leaves and blowing them around. Typical northwest fall weather again. Time for the snow level to be dropping on the east side!!

Re: Ready for the Cold?
The growing went well, but I lost most of them later,I guess I wasn't diligent enough. But getting things done is a little slower now, but I still have seeds in the freezer. Would they still work? And besides that there are all the sales going on and you know how that goes! And the new Heuchera are ...
