They are great foliage plants and are showing themselves off when everything else is dead. Have you had blooms on yours? I planted 6 small bulbs or corms (whatever they are) about three years ago. I have always had the beautiful foliage, but never a bloom yet. I'm waiting patiently to see the nice l...

[quote=" I've noticed how easily the cuttings root but can you explain why the markings change on the cuttings? Thanks!! quote] I believe you might be talking about the outer coloring. As soon as you bring them indoors or give them less light the dark area around the bright pink turns back to pure g...

What a pretty cat!
I have an 18 Yr. old female cat and we had lost our dog at the beginning of spring. I always thought she hated the poor dog, but to my surprise, since the dog has been gone, she gets up a few times a night meowing so loudly that she wakes up the whole family.

Hi!

Hi all! I've joined quite some time ago (2004), but haven't been around for a long, long time, so I'm reintroducing myself. Nice to be back.

Nikkal, I opened up the slits in the plastic already, but our temps went down drastically the last couple of days. I'm afraid to open them too much. We're in the twenties at night. I'll try what you said and see if there's any change. Thanks! :D

I NEED HELP! A few of winter sown containers have sprouted, but, the sprouts look almost white instead of green in color. What's going on? Not enough sun?

Thanks Wylee! These are just a couple of drawing I'd like to enter into some local art shows. Nothing for a book. I think I should have posted these in another thread, I just noticed this was a permanent thread, sorry.

Here's a couple of my latest pieces. Some of you that know me saw these already, so don't bore yourselves. The Brug still isn't finished and is done in colored pencil and the Iris is watercolors.

Barb, I have no idea what there called. They're some kind of dianthus but when I did a search I couldn't find them anywhere. I got the plant in a local nursery. Are they sprouting for you? I didn't even winter sow any of them, I just sprinkled the seed in one of my beds in the fall. I hope I get a f...

So you just sprinkle the cinnamonon top of te soil after planting the seeds? Interesting indeed! This is my first year trying the winter sow thing and so far with good results. I just checked today and many of the flats are sprouting. I've got poppies, golden alyssum, babies breath, and a few others...
