Wow, I don't know what it is or what you can use to take the pain away, but please don't send it north. I have plenty of my own weeds and don't need any that fight back!
Good luck and hope you get rid of it.

wild violets
Yes, they can be transplanted but I would be very cautious about adding them to a flower bed. These belong in the invasive topic here on the forum. In fact, I don't know if you can kill a violet so transplant wherever you want them.

Kalimeris Yomena Aureo - they said it was friendly but it behaved very well for three years - this year it has expanded in a 5' semi circle. The only reason it is a semi circle is I planted it in the corner of a raised bed. Artemesia Oriental Limelight - this was new last fall. I found a couple of r...

fountain fix
Jane - I finally remembered to ask my chief fixer upper, the hubby, if your bird bath could be fixed and the good news is YES. You need to get an epoxy resin that is in two parts and you mix the two parts together and apply it to the cracks. If the crack appears on both sides, it must be applied to ...

Helen - I don't think you have spring sickness, just yucky foliage from the uneven temps. They will definitely out grow this. Spring sickness foliage has a jagged edge that almost looks like pinking shears trimmed the sides of each leaf. I know you are familiar with Tinker's and Sue B. has links and...

winter losses
I will pass the Kleenex box after I take one more - LOL! The one bed with the two losses was a brand new elevated bed that had composted pine bark in it. My hubby was convinced it was too rich for the plants. Today he was going to dig and add more pine bark to it but when he got to digging around, t...

Pia - I think I lost mine from too much moisture. Our winter was TOO mild and very wet. The ground never froze, the temps were only in the single digits a couple of times and most of the time we were in the mid-30's to mid-40's and just miserable. I don't think they could swim. Too funny Lucy - I ha...

TMA - I feel your pain because we too have lost some. Two that are MIA are fall intros that were huge fans when we planted them but nothing so far. We also have another MIA that was new last spring and is MIA and a couple more that were spring or fall plantings and I have tiny little nubs that haven...

TMA - I put everything out as soon as I can and they stay out if the temps stay above freezing at night. Impatiens are the only thing I have brought in when it gets below 40. I have petunias, geraniums, cosmos and salvia along with heuchera and hosta seedlings all quite happy and growing in these co...

My impatiens are blooming now too but I have had them outside in the portable greenhouse for the last 10 days. According to what "they" say, it takes 16 weeks from planting to bloom. I got these seeds from a friend in TN and they were purple or pink. You cannot believe the different colors I have - ...

Too funny with the shirt! I received my first two orders yesterday of the REAL thing and two of them have scapes! I will pot those up so if I get a frost they can be moved inside. The balance will go into the garden tomorrow if the rain quits. I also have daylily blooms under the MH lights inside. I...

Congrats on the seedlings - now the waiting game begins. Is the one cell with two seedlings showing, a twin or did you plant two seeds in the cell. If a twin, I would leave it alone. If from two seeds, separate it. You can plant those outside around your last frost date. Even if it frosts, it probab...

forcing new leaves
On a scheff, you really don't need to leave a leaf for the plant. The energy is stored in the thick stem and the roots. On most ficus, you must leave a couple of leaves, but not the scheff. I checked my two scheff bonsai today when I put them outside to sunbathe. One has new foliage coming out of th...

forcing new leaves
Carol, I won't guarantee anything in the plant world. The info I relayed is what works for me. If the roots are healthy, yes, probably, maybe, they should pop new growth at the base. If you cut the tip of the branch/top off and you popped new foliage, then cutting it lower should make the foliage ap...

Hi Carol - Your scheffelera will "probably" pop new leaves if you cut the current foliage off. Most of them back bud like crazy in the spring of the year. Try waiting until you are into spring weather with stable temps and put the plant outside in morning sun, afternoon shade. It should probably be ...

It looks like my annual salvia by the shape of the leaves and the hairiness of them but salvia seeds are much bigger than the heuchera. Sure don't think it is a weed.
