Can anyone identify this one?

Found this in the Botanical Garden in Amsterdam last week. Very unique, or I've not seen it before. Wondering if it will grow here.

LOL! I can spell "splurge" and "extreme extravagance" IN MY SLEEP!

Wow...name for a new plant...Extreme Extravagance!

Just wondered as I've really liked the pictures from Lambertson's...seem to be lots of blues/purples. Those are hard to come by.

OTay, I'll jump back in. I have several good friends who show and breed the newly named Parson Jack Russels...there is no such rule, within the AKC, that the dogs be registered AFTER one year of age. All of the AKC registered breeds fall under the exact same registration rules, as well as dog show r...

Sorry I've missed this forum...

A friend recently told me to check out the pet forum, and glad I did. I normally only read the plant ones. I'd be interested to know how many of you guys are or have been involved with show dogs. I was basically raised around show dogs, have worked for several very accomplished professional handlers...

Wow! Had no idea there were so many dog people here! Very intriguing comments on this thread. I've been involved with show dogs since I was a mere child, totally grew up with dogs, and have worked with some of THEE most knowledgable and successful people in dogs. as well as quite a few vets over the...

Great description, JayDee...if I took a bite of one of those it would taste like candy!

And yes, I've been tempted! LOL!

This one vaguely shows diamond dusting. There are some water drops on the bloom, but the bloom basically appears thick, and coated with sugar. Would show up better if I'd taken it a bit more into the sun. Yep, sounds like you've got the idea about sculpting...they look to me like folds in the petals...

Think this one from Trimmer's garden shows appliqued/embossed throat.

OMGosh! Lexington Avenue is INCREDIBLE! Just went on my wish list.

I took lots and lots of pictures while in Florida last year, will go through them to see if I have further examples of the above mentioned traits.

Raven's Rage is pretty breath-taking too! WOW!

I really have done everything the same way I've done in the past. Start them out on top of the stove...gas heat...so they're heated from the bottom. Just seems that all are slow to get started this year. Will just have to wait and see how they do, I guess. Yes, MikeWI...I agree! I think I do tend to...

Germination question...

Just wondering if the rest of you regulars are noticing a slower germination rate this year? And possibly a reduced rate of germination. Mine seem to be taking longer than usual, and couple other folks I've talked to have noticed it too. Maybe the extreme heat affected the seeds this year? I'm not g...

No, you're right. Mine is yellow also. I took this picture in full sun...is washed out. That's one of the reasons I love it so much...I love the nice yellows!

I gave up for this year.

And even leaving the plants for the bees to pollenate, I'm not getting many pods to set.

I did bring a few inside to work with, that didn't work either.

Oh well, guess we're all in the same boat this summer!

Golden Tiara...

Whatchy'all think??? This is a three year old plant. Last year it was fine, this year it has all these spots.

Thankfully, it's not one of my favourite ones.

Well, I always thought Milkweed was a "suthern thang." Sorta like the Piggly Wiggly and grits! If you pop the fat seed pods, they bleed white. I always heard it was a variety of Passion Flower. Odd...I haven't seen or heard of "Milkweed" in years! Thanks for reminding me of something from my childho...

Yes, that does look like Kwanso...and it's one of my faves. Don't really care if it's one of the "ditch" varieties. Here's another one of my favourites of the "Ditches." Don't know if this one has an actual name or not.

Free Wheelin'. This is a rebloom on a plant that I bought in Florida, while on my Mecca trip. The spiders are definitely my faves! Wish they weren't so difficult to breed! Oh well, such beauty isn't easy to come by! LOL!
