dug out some old heuchera seeds from Granny and... : )
Had to clean out my freezer in January after our record breaking ice storm this winter and pulled out some heuchera seeds I got from Grannynanny from 2004. I didn't get any seedlings when I tried a few back then but thought what the heck and sowed them anyway. Now I have 200+ seedlings. They must've...

I'm hoping someone claims this dog so I don't have to make the decision on whether to keep it. I don't plan to keep it but my middle daughter is getting attached and is going to be mad at me when I give it away. It's a large dog and I'm a little scared of it. He's VERY active (which may be why he wa...

Can't believe someone would dump this dog...
...with snow on the ground and forecasted temps in the single digits. How can someone be so cruel and irresponsible. This guy plowed his way into our house and was on our sofa in the blink of an eye when I opened the door for my daughter. He was cold and hungry and I didn't have the heart to ...

Andrea - I have a cat with similar problems and I'd like to hear what you've learned that might help. I have a female cat that has never peed on my carpet or furniture or beds but I CANNOT leave anything laying on the floor or she'll find in and pee on it. I have four kids so it's hard to keep every...

Follow-up I found three tiny leaves on my Neon Lights so I guess it survived after all. The biggest leaf is about 1/2 wide so it's probably near death the poor thing. Any suggestions on how to revive it? Should I dig it up and pot it? I'm sure it couldn't handle another hot summer here if I leave it...

I need easy low carb recipes
My hubby's blood sugar was elevated at his last check-up so he's been trying to cut his carbs and lose a few pounds. He hasn't been diagnosed as diabetic yet and trying to watch what he eats so he can put that off as long as he can. Anyone have any ideas?

ahhhhh - It didn't occur to me that it was the heat bothering it and that the extra water wasn't helping. It was getting some morning sun so maybe I should've shaded it more. I don't think it would do any better next year, even with more shade. Our summers are probably just too hot. And I didn't mea...

Is tiarella supposed to keep its leaves in the winter?
I have a few heucheras but got my first heucherella and tiarella last year. Neither seem as drought tolerant as heuchera, especially the tiarella. I tried to keep it watered almost every day but could tell it was shrinking in our late summer heat and drought. Our winter has been very dry as well and...

My Forever Pink has been very consistent. It's gotten exactly ONE bloom cluster every year for the last for or five years since it was planted. It's on the east side of my house where I've also got a florist hydrangea that was labled hardy to zone 8. The florist hydrangea is doing wonderfully. I als...

My 'Annabelle' hydrangea goes through a greenish stage like that before it turns white and then again after - and I love it. It's starting to turn green again now. I gave up trying to find Snow Queen locally and finally got a couple of plain ol' Oak Leaf Hydrangeas. One is in FULL sun from early mor...

I winter sowed p. incarnata last year. I think that's the only one that would be hardy for me here. I had several germinate (more than half) and planted them out in the spring when they were still very small. Some of them made one or two blooms and even set fruit which surprised me. I didn't know th...
