Hey, it's August! None of ours are at their best! The good news is that all hosta folks know that Spring will hold great promise for even the rattiest of plants from last Summer.

Perhaps a video of "Hostas Gone Wild" might rival the better known spring break videos. Somehow I doubt it. :lol: I have purchased a large amount of TCs to grow on. Until they are really at full maturity, I'm not sure that I'll know whether they are growing "accurately" or not. Some of them grow SO...

If I were TC'ed then one should only keep the culls, those close to original should be composted.

They don't need to be chilled. You can just plant them.

What other viruses are there on hosta that don't pass? I know of the "famous four" but don't know of others (though I am sure they are there!)

Yes, especially with this description:

This hosta starts out green in the spring and the spots gradually appear and increase as the season progresses.

Charla! This is awesome! I think planting them while they're fresh is best but wait for a 2nd "pro" opinion!

Chris, et al.... Does anyone know if 'Walden' hosta has ever been tested for HVX? It looks virused for sure but I didn't see it "tagged" in the Hosta Library. Just curious! :) I noticed it as I was perusing other hostas in the HL and I thought it was another case of 'Breakdance' or something. Speaki...

I would take Jade Cascade - hands down! It's my favorite hosta of all time (Tidewater is almost neck in neck now!). When mature..............WOW! :o Forgot to add that Elvis does NOT live for me. I don't know why but I am on my third year w/ this ONE EYE plant and it has never, ever grown! I got it ...

I used shop lights w/ a 40W flourescent bulb, I think.

I"m so bummed too! I couldn't come b/c I had a work party at my house. As it figures...only HALF of the people showed up so I might as well have rescheduled anyway!
