I don't think HVX.
Even on blue ones, I find the "bleed" is still there or sunken tissue. I haven't seen HVX present as light patches. (Just my experience!)

Anyone have a mature Metallic Sheen? (Chris?)
Would love to see if there is a 10 yr old plant out there somewhere...or one that is comparable. Trying to ID a large hosta and have a hunch that may be it. Not much to be found online.

Re: Hosta Identification 3
Kikutii caput-avis? Reading the description in the old Hosta Handbook and looking at the photo it actually seems like a good match. I have that one on my list of hosta I purchased and cannot find in the yard. 13" long by 5/1/8" wide; shiny , medium green; very shiny underside; blade elliptic with a ...

Re: Hosta Identification 3
Walt, descriptions go on and on about the vividness of the yellow and how people remark on it, etc . I don't think this is a match. This is a greenish-gold. I'm not even sure I would call it a full-on gold. Hmmm

Re: Hosta Identification 3
The plant is 10-12 years old. I am currently going through the old Hosta Handbook page by page. haha! I vaguely remember the flower scapes kind of reminded of of Spritzer - long and wild. Hi Walt :)! I do not have record of "Waiting in Vein" but I am going to research it! There is always a chance I ...

Re: Hosta Identification 3
Hey! I wonder if this is Fuji Botan....???? I know the flowers would seal the deal but I never took notice when it was blooming. Vein count and similar look is there.

Pics from today. You can see it next to green plants. Greenish gold but not bright gold.

Re: Hosta Identification 3
I would describe my plant as a greenish gold but not the vibrant gold that I am familiar w/ in Sun Power. My plant also has just 11 vein pairs and SP has 14-16. I think it is shinier than SP also.
Maybe it's a weird version of SP? lol
So puzzling.

Re: Hosta Identification 3
Wanted to add that I grow mine in full sun.
Found a photo of scapes (kind of). It is in the left side of this pic, barely. haha Immense is front and center.
Looks like they are tall. I recall them being tall and a little crazy.

Re: Hosta Identification 3
This sure looks similar, although mine is far more gold right now. Re: baby-maker. I think I just figured that one out. There is an 'Immense' right next to it. I believe it's massive scapes encroached in this area and that's where the babies came from (super fertile). They are next to each other. I ...
