New Chapter

Well it is November 21, 2021. Year 2 of a global Pandemic. A lot has changed since I was last here! We now live in a condo in an Over 55 community. I am 65 now. Husband will be 67 in a couple of weeks. I have 1 daylily. A Stella D’oro. 😁 We grow tomatoes in the summer. Right out the front door, for ...

Re: In praise of a grand lady - GrannyNanny has passed on...

She deserved that after the courageous battle she fought for so many years. Over the years I would pop in just to check and see if she w...

Re: Welcome to spring in MN

I have not been on here for ages, but Phyllis you crossed my mind and I needed to come on here and see how you are. I hope you are over your virus. When things cross my mind I try to pay attention and follow up. One just never knows. Wishing you well, Claudia

Re: critters in the garden

Chipmunks are EVIL EVIL creatures!!

I have done the bucket method....but the ones I did like that took all afternoon to drown and I ended up having to help them. I trapped a couple and gassed them with WD40...that was faster and the dog has killed one. But they just keep coming!

Blooms So Far

I have been amazed that things are blooming so early here this year. We are 4- 6 weeks a head of what is normal!A lot of the daylilies are not opening well to. Not sure why but we are very dry and have an almost 5 inch rain deficit.

Re: Garden Web

I first started out on GW but it is rather cumbersome and a pain sometimes. Then I found Hallson's and DG....much easier to navigate. I have a close knit group of birdwatcher friends from DG which spans the country and Australia. We Skype and email. I have meet one that lives in Illinois and I am go...

My Touch Of Class is slow and the only hosta I ever had die on me was Queen of the Seas. It just never seemed to get happy and finally it just died...put us both out of our misery!
