Re: H. 'Sagae' Let's try again

Very nice.

Re: Secret Trade Received!

Unfortunately I have not been able to find much on Cupid myself. I don't have much on it in my notes other than it was labeled as an os division when I bought it. It does set seed pretty easily, but my dogs got to the scape last year before I could get the seeds... I'm a big fan of Kinba. Pretty fas...

Re: Secret Trade Received!

I've been quite busy and have not been online very much after I get home from work... I came home last Wednesday, not really paying attention as I opened the door and almost tripped over the box that was sitting inside the breezeway. I was quite excited to see six hosta inside that are all new to my...

I have to give a great big THANK YOU to Linda. She sent me 6 really nice sized hosta that arrived last Wednesday. (The future wife and I have been quite busy finishing up plans and I have had little time to sign on and write.) I was quite happy when I got home from work and there was a nice big box ...

Judi, I'm glad you like the plants I sent. You have quite an extensive list so I had to go around the garden for a while to see what was not on the list and what I had that may be a bit unique. I love the two small ones I sent. As soon as I saw The Razor's Edge it went on my want list... I don't bel...

Ann - At the moment my yard is not much to look at. I just bought my house in October and am redoing the entire yard. Right now it's a bunch of dirt piles.... So, unfortunately not too much to see yet.

One that I have ordered that I am pretty excited to see is Clovelly. Last year I bought Stich in Time and Mango Tango... I'm looking forward to seeing those two over the next few years.

Others I would really like to get:
The Razor's Edge
Purple Haze
Frosted Mouse Ears

Favorite New/Almost new plant

I'm sure many people have had a chance to look at the many 2008 catalogs that have been released. So, what are your favorite new hostas?

Jeff, I'm sorry if I am confusing you about the pots. My comments are in response to the questions on what Wolfgang does with his hostas in small pots (shown in the link from the first post). In my area we have winter temps that will reach 0 F and have windchills of -15 F , or lower. The pots that m...

As I do with my bonsai, I water my hosta (the ones in the garage) when they look a little on the dry side. If they are frozen, i don't water them. They are usually watered once a week or once every other week in the winter.

Small and mini hosta are sometimes used in a formal bonsai display. That is why they are in small pots. Because the plants are in small pots they need to be in a shed, an unheated garage, or a polyhouse in the winter. (As I mentioned in the first thread that mentioned this link.... My addiction to h...
