Re: Recent pics from my garden (pic heavy)

Thanks so much for the pictures & directions , I found about 20 cinder blocks in the barn leftover from hubby's last project. I am so excited to try this , I have already made my home depot shopping list for the ingredients & enlisted my bro for some lifting & toting help. He got so excited when I s...

Re: Recent pics from my garden (pic heavy)

Absolutely stunning gardens ! I love every inch of all your plantings ! Could you please explain the cinder block walls you made in another post. I love yours better than the professional stacked walls & hard scapeing . You did a great job. Thank-you for sharing your pictures & ideas with us.

Re: Memory lane: What Hosta do I Have?

Thanks for posting this I am going to print it out & give my non-hosta friends copies to take home. They are always expecting me to tell them over the phone what they have & it is mostly these or ones I gave them . I have even started writing down what I gift to whom ,so my old brain can keep track ...

Re: Propagating/dividing Patent Plants?

I have to say if I spent many years of my blood sweat & tears to create the perfect hosta , why should TC labs profit more than they already do? But there is a big difference big biz & ye olde home gardener, one plant can need division & replanting around your garden, just do not sell for profit . B...

Re: Hosta Bulletproof?

Now My TOC has an all blue sport & its much-much darker than any Halcyon I have ever seen. I think I will do the surgery & place the same size Halcyon next to it so I can compare the color & leaf thickness as time goes on.

Yes ; some folks have "it" bad ! I had a nightmare the other night , that involved Godzilla Slugs  I had to run out in my bathrobe & check out the hosta garden 6am. No big deal .....my family only had breakfast a few minutes later than usual :-?

Re: So what are you doing in your hosta gardens these days?

Great thread all ! I am getting any potted hostas in the ground now , moving a few that have out grown theirs spaces. Dividing up some undulutas & more common ones for gifts for my non hosta collecting friends. Watering & weeding getting ready as I want all beds done & ready for shredded leaf mulch ...

Re: Your favorite type of plants or characteristics?

Mine still all look pretty good here in NJ, except Pineapple UPSD Cake looks ratty for some reason. I find myself really giving the wavy blues an extra long look, as I do my morning garden walk. Ones like Neptune & Winfield Blue really held there color great this year & I love the shape. Q. Josephin...

Re: What turned out to be your best newer hostas this year?

Of my "newer" ones, I really am enjoying this year I think Neptune , Hacksaw, Orange Marmalade, Montana Moonshine.&Emerald Ruff Cut are the real eye catchers in the gardens right now. For outstanding growth Key Lime Pie & Earth Angel these two grow so fast , its like the old saying "water & jump bac...
