Re: Seeds from a streaked plant that has stabilized?
Ann, I hope you realize how fortunate you are to have that streaked Pewterware. I have just a few pods on my Pewterwares from crosses; first year for pods. I am not sure they will develope fully. Pewterware is really late here, fussy and when it is done blooming the whole plant seems to go dormant i...

Re: Seeds from a streaked plant that has stabilized?
Hi Ann, My experience would tell me, you actually have less of a chance for the "out of ordinary". The plant stabalized quickly because it is determined to do just that. The seeds would mostly be the greenies. Green wouldn't be all bad if the pollen came from a plant w/ great architecture or rippled...

Hello, I agree w/ a virus. I first thought, early stages of tobaco rattle virus. On the other hand, I have seen hvx come in many forms and looks. Remember in conclusion, the Agli test trips only test for one particular virus. They have at least three individual tests for different viruses; the most ...

I have wondered this also...thanks for asking. One of the two is on the wish list and has been for some time. I have held off for a few years until I could get a visual of some "garden clumps". The Hostapedia and the library left me w/o a definite answere. The first reply here from Chris seem...

Ann, I really enjoy the pictures from yourself, Gayle and others. I know you would like to see more to compare and such...I'm not in a position w/ electronics to contribute pictures as much as I would like; someday. I would vote you don't rush things. Perhaps, contributions will fall into place as t...

Wowser!!! I extend alot of respect and admiration for the amount of physical labor you have accomplished; be proud . It has been an "oven on broil" around here for some time w/ the weather. I am worn thin from this kind of work in the blast furnace. I can't imagine the determination behind your will...

Hey!
How Funny
My sister-in-law has been known to borrow them from other gardens. They have 60 acres of hilly, wooded land for recreation in the middle of knowhere. Every once in a while on a path corner or secluded spot there is a gnome to greet you . It adds lots of life!

Re: Garden tour etiquette
Hello, I always bring a "nice", sizeable plant as a token of appreciation. Something that is not real popular, been grown adaquetely so it doesn't wilt in the container and something I would love to have in my garden. Make sure to wash and polish the container. Don't pressure the host for something ...

Hi Karen!
Thankyou for the work and effort in sharing your photos.
Looks as if you are officially being brought into the "Hosta Hall of Fame". Congrats!!! You are going to need much bigger gardens, more plants and alot of excess "blue smoke" to keep up w/ the new crowning.

You have my sympathy. I know you are really into your endeavor.

Take Care,
Rick

Hello, I used to move them a few inches all the time :o Now it depends on how strong I feel and if I will be remulching an entire area. Nature drops it's beauty in many diferent looks. I am not sure if I now use this as an excuse or if I have grown to admire imperfection as exceptable forms of natur...
