Re: Why aren't my tomatoes getting ripe?

Remove all flowers and very young fruit and definitely prune out some leaves (not too many though or you'll risk sunscald). This forces the plant to start ripening what is already there. Also as suggested, quit watering - although if mother nature's providing it's a little difficult to stop that.

Definitely Trillium and looks like T. rugelii. Native to the southeastern US.

Hopefully soon some of my seedlings will look just like your flower. :D

Very pretty!

"Cyclamen hederifolium has been known to survive prolonged freezing at temperatures as low as -22 F." Cyclamen by Christopher-Grey Wilson. The way to kill them is with kindness and too much water! They must be planted where they will remain quite dry over the summer months when they are dormant. Up ...

Green Spice flowers are UGLY to me too. But evidently not to the humming birds, they dive bomb me to get to them when I'm working that section of the nursery.

Love Pat ?

My Love Pat's do not have white flowers they are more of a pale lavender. The fifth photo down at the hosta library also looks pale lavender.

So are yours white or pale lavender?

Thank you Pieter - that does help. I did the post in a rush yesterday morning before we took off for the weekend. Checked tonight when we returned and I had the darn photos posted in reverse order - now they're fixed. Two leaves on the same plant were odd looking. When I cut them off, I noticed each...

Freaky Leaf

Take a look at this mutation.

Pause on the first photo & look at the wrinkle on the bottom of the leaf.

Then scroll down to view what caused the wrinkle.

Pardon the slug bites. :x

George, I'd ask Charlene but... when she moved three years ago, she had friends & family come dig up what they wanted from her yard as she was moving into a condo. Her property sold to a developer and was being bulldozed for a housing development to go in. She didn't know then what was what to quote...

RE: Height

Yes George - 3 1/2 inches tall. Quite the ground hugger.

Charlene does not remember where it came from - pretty sure she bought it, but I guess it could be an op seedling.

Very cute little hosta.

The substance is as heavy as June. Very thick. The following are two online descriptions. I'd say we have an almost positive id! My plants are blooming now though instead of July/Aug. "Nearly round, golden leaves of good substance are displayed in a tidy mound. An all gold sport of ‘Grand Tiara’. Da...

Three years in the ground at a friends - she doesn't keep track of hosta names. Past three years it's been in a pot.

This year I'll remember to take pics and record the blooms to help with the id.
