Re: Back Again!

Hi gal! Just sent you a FB request. BTW it looks like we might have an ‘OMG it’s a small world’ moment. We have a shared FB friend. I don’t know him personally, but tracked him down a while back while looking for family members of Charles Lorin and Jennie Pearl Coe. Lorin and Pearl were very close f...

Back Again!

Well it’s been an interesting decade! Short version of long story. Had a great Hosta garden. Hubby was babysitting garden. Hubby killed my garden. Hubby became ill, and I just wasn’t up to gardening. Hubby passed Oct. 2017 Last summer was still adjusting. This morning, with grandson’s assistance, br...

Re: I'm back!

Wow another voice from the past. Maybe we should start an 'Oldies but Goodies' thread. LOL After all we've been around a lot longer than HVX, and would appear to have just as much staying power. LucyGoose - Remember the shirt well, it was the Asian elephant shirt. Since then I did Africa and got to ...

Not a bad idea! I still have several of my big pots, and sure I could find a deal on a few more.

Re: Need info...Give me your 20 favorites

Also starting from near scratch too, I'm finding these lists very interesting. Many are old favorites, but there are a lot of new ones I'm going to have to read up on. I'm not going to list 20, but these are a few of the ones I'm thinking of starting off with. They weren't my most expensive, but mus...

Re: Idiots it Belly ot Beast19 Lost Episodes Joe Patti's Mar

Great story! Just did a very mini version, took grandson to Biloxi, MS. Filled him up on seafood, poorboys and beignets. Just before leaving went out to one of the local shrimp boats and bought the freshest (and cheapest) shrimp I've ever bought. Next stop was Walmart for an ice chest and ice, to ke...

Re: I'm back!

Cool another voice from the past. Was starting to think everyone I knew had left. Miss how the board was so active before I left. It's going to be a few long years of working to get my garden looking good again. Thinking about putting in a few nice standards, and see what happens. So is there going ...

Re: I'm back!

No major problems with tree roots other than my shade is from a 60 year old black walnut tree. Which means I have very limited choice to what I can grow. Unfortunately I don't have another place to put my garden. The disadvantage of living in the city, is lack of yard space. $%^&* HVX!!! The good ne...

Re: I'm back!

Life is like a book, with so many chapters. While I wouldn't trade the last one for anything, I'm mentally getting ready for the next one. The garden took a major hit, however rather than cry about it, I'm thinking I know a whole lot more now than I did when I originally set it up. So this is my cha...

I'm just a bit north of you in central AR. Before my garden disaster (not weather related), I had 200 different hostas. Some of my best performers were (not in any particular order): Sugar & Cream Spilt Milk Abba Dabba Do Sun Power Big Daddy Sum & Substance Fried Bananas Guacamole Striptease Lemon L...

Re: Laughing in the grocery store today...

Most moms have at least thought this more than once! When mine were young, I cheated when telling them such things, by using sign language. They knew most of the words I was saying, but more important they knew if I had switched to sign, there had stepped on my last nerve. LOL

I'm back!

Hi everyone!!! I'm back. LOL It's been an interesting ride, but after 10 years of traveling, life is going back what most would consider normal. OMG does the garden need some love. Good news is no more virus in it. Had one darn plant with the virus, and left the garden in the care of hubby. Not only...

Cooked Squash Casserole

Well I've been on the road again. At least this time is was two short trips (u.s.) Now that I'm back again, it's time to address the problem children. I'll need to send some of the leafs up, however I think a few can be scanned. The oddities are pretty noticeable on some of the larger kids. Below yo...
