It is interesting that Chris mentioned 'heat'. I have three holes in the garden that were previously occupied by HVX inffected hosta. Have been transplanting and dividing hostas and irises, and was eaten alive by mosquitos. Did someone mention summer is ending? I must have blinked.

Thanks so much for the identification and advice. This pic was taken last year. Would the virus infected the others hostas nearby as well by now, the surrounding hostas need to be destroyed as well? What are the main characteristics to look for? Really appreciate your help.
