I've heard that cutting the Phal stem after flowering will produce more flowers. Where should the cut be made?

Got this at least 25 years ago as part of a Florist gift plant. Never knew the name and have never seen it elsewhere. It has a lavender flower very similar to a violet except no yellow thingy in the center. Leaves are 7-8 " long and 3 1/2 " at the widest part. The underside is very red and fuzzy. IM...
