Re: thoughts on landscape cloth?
I'm a member of that club. The only reason we use landscape cloth now is to place between the block and dirt so it won't wash out when it rains. And sometimes it doesn't even help then if it's too much rain.Chris_W wrote:Everyone I know who has ever tried fabric in perennial gardens has regretted it.

I totally understand about the weather. It got down into the 30's here night before last. Doesn't look like we lost anything though.
Looking forward to seeing your pictures!

My next project. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa97/OurBoys2007/Yardwork-Improvements/DSC_0866.jpg I still have some weeding to do but at least most of it is done. We're going to move the logs down to where we want the bottom of the bed to be. I'm going to get a Camellia and plant it in the lar...

Re: BackerBunch Journal
Most people would consider our front yard a problem spot because of all the clover. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa97/OurBoys2007/Yardwork-Improvements/DSC_0383.jpg We like the clover. How can you not when you have so many of these??? http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa97/OurBoys2007/Yardwor...

My problem spot. The Liatris is taking over the Liriope and the Black Eye Susans are taking over the Liatris and Liriope. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa97/OurBoys2007/Yardwork-Improvements/DSC_0458.jpg I need a sunny spot to make another bed so I can transplant the Liatris but I have no idea ...

Re: BackerBunch Journal
A few years ago, In the upper corner of the front lawn, I wanted another flowerbed. (RIP, Billy. I still miss you.) http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa97/OurBoys2007/Yardwork-Improvements/DSC00329.jpg DH kept telling me the dirt was too hard to till up. I know my tiller is a baby tiller but it can...

DH & I really didn't like the cinder block look. When we were finally able to purchase enough red block we extended the iris bed when we replaced the cinder blocks. DH leveling the ground for the block. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa97/OurBoys2007/Yardwork-Improvements/DSC_0515.jpg His 'super...

Another 2010 project. Our house is built on a hill. We have a small patch of woods between our side yard and backyard and the hill is quite steep thru those woods. I complained a lot over the winter because when it was wet, it was very difficult walking down to the backyard and this past winter was ...

We had a lot of rain and snow last winter. I'm so excited!!! My Stiletto came in yesterday!! I was going to get them in the ground but last I heard, it was supposed to get down around 37 degrees tonight. (It never fails. We always have a cold night 1-2 weeks after Easter.) Soooo, I'll exercise some patience and get them in either tomorrow or...
