You all are doing WONDERFUL!!!!!! I don’t have a pedometer so I have no idea how much I walk a day. I do have a treadmill that I walk on 1 hour a day 5 days a week at a full incline. I have been doing this for a couple of years. It’s old and the speed and distance display is broke. But the important...

I also need a real kick in the pants. In the last couple of months I have put on almost 10 pounds! My life went crazy this summer and I just started to pack it on. Stress is heck on your weight. I’m going to keep checking in here and hopefully you all will give me the motivation I need to get this w...

Congratulations Tami!!!! I have been fighting my weight most of my life so I know where you are coming from. I lost over 60 pounds a couple of years ago partly thanks to the support and encouragement I got here at Hallsons. I had been doing pretty good at keeping it down till just recently. My life ...

This is a Chlorophytum orchidantheroides, common name, Fire Flash. It is closely related to the spider plant. I had one without the streaks and loved it. I must not of had it in the right spot because I lost it. Would really like to get another one. Problem is, I don’t have any room for any more hou...

After looking closer at mine I don’t think we have the same kind. My leaves are much smaller and darker green. But the blooms look to be about the same color. I don’t know what happened but the sucker is now blooming like crazy. Might be the fish emulsion I gave it. But it just doesn’t look as good ...

Linda your dad is absolutely right! I had this happen a couple of years ago in a small bed and lost all my plants. Thankfully they were all common and nothing was very big. And my mom lost a bunch of tulips the same way. I wonder if the nasty little monsters have meetings to see just how much troubl...

One of the worst things moles do is tunnel under your hostas without raising the soil and so you have no idea that they even went through. First you notice that your hosta is not looking well. You try water and other things only to find out later that there is no soil for the roots and your hosta ha...

I have this too and like you can’t find the tag. The foliage on mine is looking good, a little darker green then yours, but I am not getting many flowers. I have the white not far from it and it is blooming nicely. Not sure what is up with it.

Wow was I happy to see a reply from you OED. I kept telling my DH I wish I knew how to get a hold of you. I knew you moved but didn’t know if it was closer or farther from us. This is not a done deal yet. They will not get here till the end of July. Due to the bad hips of our GSD we never take him a...

Be careful getting to close to the baby. One year while trying to save one from my dogs one of the parents dived down and hit me full force in the top of my head with it’s beak. As I was sitting on the ground seeing stars and feeling dizzy, my DH and DD were standing on the deck laughing their heads...

Both are males. Our GSD is neutered, the Mastiff is not. I think our GSD is more active then the Mastiff. Arty basically likes to eat, sleep and go to the bathroom. He has been around a lot of other dogs and according to my daughter has never met another dog he didn’t like. And that goes for people ...

No decision has been reached yet. We are all still talking over different possibilities. It is not that we don’t want to take Arty, we are just not sure if our GSD will accept him. He has been an only dog for a while now. He takes real well to most cats, but we have never tried another dog. Bagheera...

Boy have we got a problem. My second oldest DD is married to an Air Force man. Right now they are living in Idaho. They have been there for less then a year. When they moved out there they were told that they would be out there for at least two years. Well without telling DD, my SIL put in for a ove...

Sorry this took me so long. I was having computer troubles and needed to catch my DS to take care of it. Finally caught the boy tonight. As you can see the color is nice, but the size is not even half of what it would have been if not for the freeze. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h91/madmama4/Ho...

I got my Blizzard from Chris the same year you did Phyllis. It had 4 BIG eyes this spring but then was hit by that late hard freeze. It came back better then I thought it would. Not as big as it would have been, but it’s not dead. I’ll try to get a picture of it tomorrow to add to yours. I know Chri...

I may not post much but I am here daily and your pics of the day are something I always look at. I very seldom comment but I really enjoy them and appreciate you taking the time to do it. I hate that some nasty person or people did that to you. I hope that all of your plants make a very fast recovery!

I’m sure your right about just giving them another place to eat OC. But what’s a person to do. I have 5 that are here all the time and another couple that show up about once a day. We had 8 out back yesterday. The dog just sits and looks at them. I think he just can’t decide which one he shou...

That is something I see almost every time I look out my back window. I have a bird feeder out back that is shaped like that. It’s amazing what those little guys will do to get something to eat. My dad is making me a platform feeder which I think they will like much better. I know my birds will be ha...

I promise all of you I am going to get out and weed and mulch that bed. But to be honest the weeds are the least of my worries. The weeds are just unsightly. It’s the nematodes, HVX, moles, the dead hostas from the freeze, the roots from the evil maple and all my incredible shrinking hostas that hav...
