Sure is a pretty one. Love the colors. I like the name may be a little long but it's easy to pronounce, more so than alot of hostas.
Thanks for sharing

Re: Secret Trade Received!! 2010
Mary, I just got home from working and reading the list of hosta's received so I read your other post. Thank you for sending the two pieces of Salute. Is it a fast grower? I am trying to decide if I should plant them together or plant as two and enjoy them both in different hosta beds. Thank you for...

Re: Secret Trade Received!! 2010
Just received my box in the mail. It came at a perfect time as I was having a bad day at the office. I am so happy just had to post this. I received from Pandora, Salute I had seen a picture of this one on the forum and thought I really liked the ruffled edge and how it stood up so straight and tall...

My GE did the same thing. I just couldn't make myself spade out the blue part until I really had to or lose the GE part. I now have a very nice GE and also a big blue one also.
Thanks for sharing you hostas.
They are very pretty.

Re: Your greatest gardening "find"
The hostas seem to really like the poo, they really grew allot last summer with all the rain we have had. Well and the poo doesn't even smell after a year. Last summer I was filling tubs and buckets with it and my dh niece and nephew wanted to help me plant flowers. So they were digging in the dirt ...

Re: Your greatest gardening "find"
My greatest find is when my husband piles manure on a slab of cement that was not being used. It sets for about a year and it turns into what I call black gold. He adds to the pile every year so I keep having more each year. I can tell exactly to the inch in the hosta bed where I have put it down. T...

Phyllis, do the seedlings look like the mother plant. I may give this a try myself next year. Sounds easier than hosta's.

Re: Introduction
Welcome to the forum, as you can see it is a great place to learn so much about hosta's. I sure have learned alot in the few years I have been here. I also am from Iowa, and the hosta's seem to be doing just great this year with all the rain. Just don't need the hail some people have been getting. A...

Re: Hallson's Get-Together 2009
I am a little late with my pictures, but it took me awhile to figure out how to load them. Again I want to thank Roxanne for such a wonderful day that will bring smiles to me for a long time.
Here is Marlys checking out one of Roxannes newest seedlings. It sure has character for such a young hosta.

Marlys, I am so glad that you got to take Boomerang back home with you. I think it would be homesick if someone else had picked it in the swap. I just loved seeing that beautiful Rascal Seedling. It should make you very proud to be its owner. I am still in awe of your Rascal, I don't think mine will...

Thanks Rox for the wonderful food, great hostas, and I love Mikoda. You really went to alot of work to have us all over to your place. The chicken and BBQ pork were so good, as was all the other food that was brought in. Your hosta's are the cream of the crop. I saw alot of hosta's that I didn't kno...

Thanks Jane for reminding me about taking my camera. But someone will have to help me get them resized so I can post them here. My Rhubarb cake is just about ready to take out of the oven. I also need to take a lawn chair. It sounds like it will be nice and cool especially for July. Roxanne you did ...

Sounds like the weather will really be nice and the temps in the 70's great for hosta gazing and chatting with hosta friends. Marlys so sorry to hear about the deer eating your hosta flowers. You need our newfy she hates deer and really gets mad when she sees them in the pasture. We have to keep her...

Marlys, I am sure any of us would like your seedlings. So glad that you can make it. Jo, I have bright pink duct tape, but Emmy is to cute to put it on. I have to figure out what would be nice plants to bring. May have to pick one up from the farmers market.
See everyone Saturday.

Re: Hosta Visitors
Marlys, sounds like a nice place in Grinnell to visit for plants. I have not heard of her before. It was just to hot and humid for you to misbehave. At least you told a few good stories for us to laugh about. It was wonderful of you to stop by.
Take Care,

Hi, I'm going to add my 2cents worth, and say please add Thunderbolt. It may not look like much at first but give it a few years and it is just beautiful. Mine is 6 years old and almost as big as Blue Angel. Maybe not a real easy one to grow but sure worth the effort.
