Re: Quiet Waters

I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking on how fragile they sometimes are and just vanish over a winter. Hoping that hasn't happened here. Very unique looking hosta baby!

Re: Name for 'Cadillac' & 'Fan Dance' reversions?

Hmmm. Not that enthused by any of those. Guess I'll just go with the fact of the situation and call them 'Cadillac Reversion' and blah, blah, blah.

Thanks!

Name for 'Cadillac' & 'Fan Dance' reversions?

Hi, All!

I have both a 'Cadillac' and a 'Fan Dance' that are reverting or sporting solid green eyes. What would these be called? I'm going to seperate them, but I want to know a name to put on the tags. I know I am weird and keep the boring chunks.

Thanks!

Re: Hostas you just can't seem to grow...

Yeah, the leaves also have a weird asymmetrical twist to them that I'm not sure is normal or not..im guessing not. It's a carbon copy of the plant it was last year so I'm afraid it might never snap out of what's ailing it. I'll take a picture later. This year El Niño also came up with small, thick, ...

Re: New Hostas arrived.

Mine came Wednesday! This is why Hallson's is my go-to place...all my babies came with at least 3 eyes, not just one. One of them, 'Plug Nickel', had over 15!!! So I have been ignoring my garden the last three years since I have been under quite the strain with a teenager gone amuck, but not anymore...

Re: Miracle Grow Moisture Control potting soil

I'm interested to see what others have to say. I have just planted a whole bunch of hostas in this potting mix this last week. Hope that wasn't a mistake! Of course, my potted plants are under evergreen trees or my bedroom addition overhang, so they don't get real wet during the winter.

Ooh ooh ooh! I can tell you right now that I am going to need a Frosted Jade! Save me one. I just love it and mine died about four years ago. But, no, I don't have any pics of them for ya. Sorry. :-?

Re: Help! Weirdness in Hosta Garden!!!

When saw first saw the picture I thought how repulsive but would have guessed at a fungus type thing. God I would have been scared at first before I realised what it was. may also have thought at a glimes of it a banana type slug creature, I get banana slugs a lot and there huge God I hate them wit...

Re: Stem damage

It is definately slug damage. The babies are the worst for this, I think. I am having lots of that in my garden, too, this year. You never can kill them all, and they come from other yards, too.

Hell-fire and damnation!

Dadgummit! My "Gilt by Association" just popped positive for HVX. I am so ticked off! That was not a cheap hosta when I bought it in '06. I am pretty sure it got it from an "El Nino" that was purchased in '04. I didn't know it was positive until two years ago. So no telling how many plants ar...

Re: Can anyone ID this.

Hi, red...I don't think it is Night Before Christmas. I just divided one last week. This is part of it, and as you can see, the leaves are longer, smoother, floppier, with no twist, and appear to be thinner. R.Rock's pic looks more like it to me. Sorry for the lighting. I just ran outside, and snap...
