Char, does the wipe down get rid of the odor, and can you smell it on the cloth you clean him with? There are many things that can cause odor. Ear problems, teeth/mouth/throat problems, anal glands need draining, and others. As you probably know :D boxers are natorious for "gas" . It would be...

Thanks Janet, you splaned it much better than I did  . I'd love to see one of his seminars. I got an update on Thunders littermates tonight at the Schutzhund club. Good breeding and good upbringing has produced 1 SAR/Schutzhund dog (Thunder). One Schutzhund sport dog in Kansas city area. One P...

Jane, although I think it can have some effect, I tossed all three of my kids around like a football yet they turned out with three totally different personalities. Debbie, this is for newborn to 16 day old pups. It used to be believed that nothing affected a puppy till aprox 21 days old. 7-8 weeks ...

hardwiring puppies

Debbie (TQ) asked me about imprinting puppies in another post. My big mouth has a habit off (unintentially  ) hijacking posts so I'm going to move this here. Debbie, imprinting is probably not the word I should have used. Hardwiring for stress would be better. While the pups are between 3 and ...

  @ Janet. That's gonna be the vision I see now every time I see my buddies cat hacking. I'll definately move to the other side of the room now  . I did have a huge, male GSD/Dane when my girls were growing up. He would upchuck if ANY puppy licked his face.

:D I never understood cats.....or is it cat people   . My terriers, 14 and 16 lbs, aren't much bigger than some cats, but I can't imagine them running across the kitchen counters. My JRT can go over a 6ft privacy fence as well as any cat but not in the house.  My GSD can lay hi...

Pretty much where ever I happen to be. It's a real pain when I'm in my wood working shop and trying to step over three dogs while I run the different equiptment. They wont even move when there covered with sawdust unless I go to a different piece of equiptment. Even at the puter, I usually get a few...

The shallow planting gives the roots more warmth early in the season. Just remember, it may require a closer eye on watering because the shallow roots will dry out faster. Just till they get established in the ground though.
