Hi Deb, and how cool that you've started knitting! If you are knitting a row and then purling a row, you're doing stockinette stitch. It's going to curl no matter what you do...it's just the nature of that particular stitch pattern (not all knitting curls, though). Even blocking won't help :( To kee...

A Couple From Today

This is Helen Boehm. Tall scapes, 7 inch bloom, subtle lavendar color...plus, it's a mid-to-later bloomer! http://www.riyality.com/bonnie/HelenBoehm.jpg And this is Elaine Williams. About 24 inches tall with a 6 inch bloom. I really like the color on this one. The camera didn't quite catch the color...

Belle Isle Lipstick

I've waited a whole year for this to bloom. It's been blooming about a week, but this is the first bloom that showed it's true color. I like this daylily...good foliage, good bud count, good branching. But, my only complaint is that the scapes just clear the foliage. It's supposed to be 31 inches ta...

Hi Debbie! Lime Frost will get to 6 inches or so. I think Truly Angelic gets to about 5.5 inches. But, since this has been hidden for most of the year, the blooms are smaller. I don't fertilize, just amend with compost.

 You guys crack me up! Yeah, the error thing happens. I just hadn't realized how much that Persicaria had spread. I was flabbergasted when I saw poor Truly Angelic hidden beneath the branches. I'm very excited about Lime Frost. As a near white, this one is fairly clear. Only a hint of yellow as...

A new one, and a correction

A while ago, I posted a pic of Truly Angelic. Well, it wasn't Truely Angelic. It seemed to be in the right spot, but something didn't look right about it, and I chalked it up to our crazy weather. Last week, we had a couple of major storms blow through here that resulted in my having to cut back a v...

Oooh, Patricia Fay is wonderful. I like the form and the color. Has it been a good grower for you? I know what you mean about trying to capture the colors of the darker ones. My Strutters Ball is beautiful this year, but all the pics I've taken don't do it justice.

Beautiful. I was at the local daylily farm yesterday, and the owner said he sold out of this one very early this year! Boo-hoo for me, though :(
