I struggle to see why you think perlite won't help. I've used it liberally for years and it really does. It keeps the soil from compacting back into a cement brick, allowing for better drainage. It really does work, quite well actually. Exactly!! I use it here in the beds where our tree business is...

Hi Bill, I ended up winning the Cogleywood and will be happy to add a older registered hosta like this to the collection. I'll compare AO and C with each other but I have a feeling there will be a slight difference. Tried to get my hands on a CC but no luck so far :-(.. Thanks for the info you poste...

Or Alley Oop :P .. There's probably no difference in the 3 at all. I'm assuming since it was registered 2 years before Alley Oop then AO and CC would really be the look alikes.. But then again that all depends on how long each person grew them before naming and registering :-)..

It was something new and I can't remember the name either.. It's not something common and the name didn't ring a bell and that's probably why I forgot

Hi Jane, I'll be the first to admit that I make mistakes when I offer a few for sale on ebay and I've seen a lot others do it before also.. There's lot of hostas that don't have pictures :D and after reading that on the HL List's Section I have to say it's got to be legit cause the last update to th...

Hi Bill, It's suppose to be similar in appearance but overall a smaller plant. This is what the seller told me when I asked and mentioned the 2 you did. I honestly don't expect to win it and am sure someone will outbid me in the last few secs. I wanted to compare it with the Alley Oop I have here.

Midwest Convention Leaf Show Question?

Hi All,
Does anyone remember the plant name of this leaf? It was sitting on the table behind your back as you walked in..

Hi Charla, It's in the HF from Hilltop and Amy told me it was no longer available now or in the future. From what she told me they sold there whole stock. It does pop up from time to time on auctions so just keep a eye out. Just be careful of any plant that comes from a garden with infected plants.

I asked the seller how many more years to let increase for sale again and they said they were selling the whole stock :o .. I kno...

Hi Helen,
I agree 100% and it's different opinions that make this a unique world.. Just think how boring the world would be if we all agreed on the same things

Hi Molly,
There's tons of people that collect hostas that aren't members of the AHS so how would these written rules apply to them? The AHS has minimal members from what I've been told.

Hi Helen,
It's a Ken Anderson plant but I do agree it's a very nice plant and fits the 10ft rule to me also. Another that's similar is Yankee Blue but it has a little darker blue color

Hi Jaime, Sorry for the late reply but I didn't see this post. I wouldn't worry to much about them cause I have plants doing the same thing here. Like Helen said it's a self defense mode that the plant go into. I can go out and unpot a few plants that have no tops but under the soil is a nice set of...
