Re: Junco - Oregon Form
How cool! Perhaps he could be a local "Oregon" cross to make him pale, or you shot through your window. Very cool though.

Re: Chipmonks and corn?
Yes they can. They are the same size as mice. How about hardware cloth? The rectangle shaped 1" x 1/2" open one. That could work, but they do climb too, they did to get into my feeders through the squirrel barrier.

I've heard kitties don't like oranges. Perhaps something orange scented would keep the kitties out. Don't know about the dog, I've heard Shibi's are tough.

I always looked forward to the crocus and daffafdills and the haze of green when you looked out over a landscape of trees. I also looked forward to the sounds of songbirds.

That is SO COOL! I don't think I've seen a horned lark myself, way to go! (even a poor photo is a good photo of a first sighting! )

Nah, just one more bird taking advantage of the feeding station. Fatten up those starlings, make em extra tasty.

Way cool! Is that a sharp shinned? One less starling can only be a good thing.

Right now the outdoor temp is 51, it's 71 indoors. I keep it at 80 in the summer. I'll need to put ice packs down for him I think. He likes to stay by the front door too, there is a heavy draft from the door.

Freeky Day!
I had a dream this morning where I came home and my door was open a crack. Walked in, everything was there... no dog. Looked everywhere, finally found him sleeping under a sheet in the living room (one room apartment by the way). Came home from work today, unlocked the door....NO DOG!!! Looked aroun...

Darn, I want to go to your house! I made tortilini alfredo, the alfrado I made from scratch and used fresh parsley as garnish.

Oh, that is the BEST shot of a junco I've seen!!! I so miss the little juncos! I love how they hop back and forth to dislodge seeds from the snow. Very good job!

No, I mean by just walking across it or zooming around playing with the pillows. Holes are poked into leather just from walking. Nothing is safe from intentional scratching. That's why I have a 4' and a 6' scratching posts.

Cute pics. I went to goodwill for my couch (my first couch) for the dog. It is microfiber. The cat claws don't effect it and the hair is easy to remove. When I pay full price for a couch microfiber is at the top of the list.

I have to laugh... Lucy, you made the boo-boo in Chri's example in your response.

The last one is a great blue, but you're right, the one in the tree is a black-crowned night heron adult.
Sorry about the job, that sucks.
