Re: Does anyone have a sunny perennial bed?

Some plants that you haven't mentioned that I like a lot, are the following: Ibiris/Candytuft: spring/white and evergreen Arabis: spring, white or mauve. Re: Bergenia anyone?
Hi calliloo! I'm new to Hallson Gardensforums. I have about 11 mature clumps of Bergenia cordifolia (pink) because of their versatility. I have them growing in sun and shade. Information that I gathered about them indicated that they are drought tolerant and so they are. The ones I started in dry sh...

I started my hosta garden about three years ago (2007) at my husband's suggestion because he was having trouble cutting the grass around expose...

Re: What's holding up in the late garden.
Thanks for your reply, Chris. I think the reason that I'm having difficulty downloading my pictures is that their pixel size is too big. I have not been able to find a way to reduce the file size, either on IPhoto or on Photobucket. If ViolaAnn is viewing this thread, perhaps she may have a suggesti...

Re: Yet another nematode discussion
I read somewhere that to control nematodes, you have to increase the numbers of your beneficial microbes in the soil and that you can do this by spreading corn meal around your plants. I applied corn meal last summer and again this summer, because I've been using aluminum sulphate to kill slug eggs ...
