Yours is awesome!

Looks like it isn't a match to mine. Mine solidly has 17-19 veins ...leaning toward 19. Hmmmm

Re: Hosta Identification 2

Wow!! It does look like it! You even have some of the more narrow leaves mixed in like mine is.

What is the vein count on your mature leaves?

Hosta Identification 3

Year 3 trying to ID this one. Looks green/goldish now, gets light/medium green after spring. Fairly stiff leaves. Upright, vase shape. Baby-maker!

Hosta Identification 2

Purchased approx 10 years ago. Really good substance but not Tokudama Aureonebulosa thick. 17-19 vein pairs. Had faint variegation when it emerged in the spring (third photo). For some reason, I am obsessed with this hosta. (Close up current leaf pics in 2nd post) sub side.jpg sub top.jpg sub spring...

Re: Best way to post hostas for identification?

Yes...I'm not having great luck on the Hosta ID page and people fatigue quickly there. Many of my plants are selections from 10-12 years ago and many are uncommon varieties in the trade. Not "rare" but just not what people would normally choose (oh hey! another long leaved, arched green hosta! lol) ...

Best way to post hostas for identification?

I have quite a few hosta that I need IDs for. I have tried to solve as many as I can on some Facebook forums and Gardenweb but I seem to be stumped/stumping on several.

Is it best to do a separate post for each hosta I need an ID for?

Re: Chris - Winter cleanup?

Excellent - thanks for taking the time to respond!

I think I'll evaluate my leaf litter and if I have a ton of it in the area, I'll remove the mushy leaves. Very little litter...and I'll leave them.

Have a great winter! Looking forward to visiting next year! ;)

Chris - Winter cleanup?

Chris - I've seen SO many arguments for both sides, I thought I would ask the expert. Do you remove the dead leaves on the hosta (mine are currently mush) in the fall or spring? I've seen a lot of people talk about removing the "dry" leaves. Mine are rarely dry. They are more mushy and make me conce...

Re: Hallson Gardens is for sale - it is time to retire

You've worked far too hard to build a profitable business to just give it away or take a loss. Take your time. The right offer will come in!

I'm happy you'll be around next year. I'm not that far away all of these years and have only ordered via mail. This year: road trip!
