My Masquerade is not only alive for the 3rd season, but has graced me with a sport. Instead of the usual white centered green margins, I have 2 eyes that are green centered with very dark green margins. I will get a photo when it stops raining. Anyway, do you know if there are any registered (named?...

Happy spring all!

Kalmia? Deer resistant or will they think it is a treat?

I've decided to plant more deer resistant plants and shribs, and I liek the look of kalmias, but I don;t know if the deer will like them as much as I do. Add to that, the deer in my neighborhood don't seem to read the same lists that I do.... Anyway, does anyone grow kalmia and do the deer snack on ...

Re: African Violets - any fanciers here?

Hey Aud! They are doing really well! Thanks for asking. I have a couple of questions (issues) that I am reasearching, but that is part of the fun of growing stuff (imo) I love the research. Here are a couple of shots of my baby trays and a couple of close ups of some of the ones I have questions on ...

African Violets - any fanciers here?

I will be the first to admit, I've never been particularly successful with them. However, I was in the grocery a few of months ago, and saw a really pretty one with dark green foliage and magenta flowers. I usually buy a bunch of cut flowers for my master bath and toss them after a week, but this AV...

Re: My Vanda Orchids

Beautiful! I have never tried vandas before, are they challenging? I have been successful with Phals and encyclias and have struggled with Cattlyas and hard cane dendrobiums. Where would you put vandas on the easy/hard to grow scale? Great growing and I would love to see that spike when it opens Alexa

Hidden Cove - variagated babies? streaky scape?

I have a Hidden Cove in a trough and it produced 2 scapes. One is all green, and one is streaky green, white and pinkish. I will try to save the seeds from both, who knows it might be something interesting, but my question is which is the more normal for Hidden Cove? I will try to get a photo..........
