I have one of these fellas visiting my suet this year too for the first time! He's so similiar to our summertime flickers in size and shape, he tricked me the first time I spotted 'im! He's been a regular..along with some downy and hairy woodpeckers, and doesn't seem to mind me peering out the windo...

This is an awesome recipe! I have made it 3 times...for potlucks...and the requests for sharing the recipe are amazing! Everyone loves it! It goes together quickly and makes a nice presentation.

Hmmm....one of my favorite ferns! I'd at least give it a fightin' chance by carefully trimming back the long fronds that are attached to the round discs at the base. I've seen a ton of wedding cakes in my 40+ career as a florist......that one is truly a BEAUTY!

Beautiful tree! The leaves look like one we get in the floral industry called "seeded euc."

There's quite a variety of eucalyptus available...each has that familiar "vick's" smell! Love the frosty color on the leaves!..................p :wink:

Oh Karma! You're wetting my appetite for MORE daturas next year! Last summer I grew those lovely triple lavender...and forgot to gather seed in the fall. This Spring...I was excited to find 3 tiny seedlings in the same area! Those plants are as tall as me now...and the blossoms have been spectacular...

Sure are beautiful blossoms! We have a hardy variety at school...growing up some netting on one of the ghse. It used to be so much more prolific...this year little of it actually appeared!

YUP! It's time to trick them into thinking the days are SHORT and the nights are LONG!! We'll start putting black cloths over our 2,000 poinsettias in the school greenhouses on Monday. This should be started on the Fall Equinox. It takes about four weeks of covering them from late afternoon to late ...

Wanna know my secret?!? :o On some of those first warm spring nights when the frogs start their beautiful chorus...if I see a toad in the road...I carefully pull over and go back and grab 'im!! Too many get splattered...I feel I'm saving their little lives...and my gardens become good homes to them!...
