I think my biggest pet peeve is with my otherwise wonderful boyfriend who steps over the cardboard UPS/FED EX/USPS box on the doorstep, sitting in the sun on a totally hot, sun-baked, day. And then when I get home hours later and carry the box inside he says "what did you get?" followed immediately ...

Top ten
In alphabetical order because I would be here all night if I tried to rank them:
Blue Mouse Ears
Guacamole
Paul’s Glory
Kiwi Full Monty
Krossa Regal
Liberty
Moonlight
Moonlight Sonata
Sagae
Shade Fanfare
I stuck with ones I actually own so my brain wouldn't short circuit.

The weather is playing tricks on me. It was freezing last week and then Saturday was so warm I was out cleaning out the garden, counting all of the spring bulbs that were popping up here and there :P . Then Sunday was so cold I hid inside and spent the day on the computer, writing, working on my web...

THAT is sedum acre! :o :o I have it here and it's a weed, LOL! I have let it remain in a few spots because I thought it had some merit and like most sedums, it's easy to rip out if it gets out of control, but I have NEVER seen it look so good! Wow! I have a teeny bit cascading down a low wall and it...

Linda, I'm so happy to hear how well yours did in just one year. My garden is young and so are most of my plants. I haven't lived in a house with a yard since I was a kid in my mom's house so now I'm in heaven. I have been biting my nails wondering if my gardens will continue to look sparse in 2007....

Has anyone used this as a ground cover near hosta?
Ceratostigma/Plumbago - has anyone ever used this as a groundcover under hosta? I did what I never do ... and bought it without a purpose and now I'm reading that it's very invasive :-? . I decided to keep it and give it a shot because nothing seems to be truly uncontrollably invasive in my ridiculo...

Getting better. Three fish have joined the frog and lots of fall sale plants (and plants poached from other gardens in the yard - oh well, an excuse to buy more next year  ) are making it look comfy. The frog has been living alternately in the yucca and a juniper just on the other side of the y...

Thanks for the thoughts! I wasn't sure she would feel comfortable hopping out during the day yesterday but at night she did move out of the water. At least I didn't see her this morning or when I got home from work. I tried to make some extra hiding spots for her with some stones just in case I dest...

New pond ... Almost there
Our new pond is almost done but we hit a snag today when I discovered a frog in the pond already :o I needed to fill the pond to check the height of the overflow edge to the water level but I was afraid to dump a lot of chlorinated hose water in and harm the frog :???: I'm thrilled with the pond, th...

Wildlife bog/pond garden questions
I put in a small (very very small - about the size of a whiskey barrel planter sunk into the ground) bog garden in the spring of this year and I had a tremendous increase in the number of toads in my garden. Since I have loads of hosta - I have slugs and the result was a definite impact on the slug ...
