Pia, Glad to hear I have the real thing! That spot is under Black Walnuts. The picture was taken in May when the trees haven't leafed out yet but later in the year that spot only gets morning sun. June seemed very happy there . Chris, I will most definitely take pictures!! It's one of my gardening p...

I got the seeds from Doug Ruff. June didn't set any pods last year.

I'm still hanging on to all my seedlings George. I had some that were green and have suddenly sent up streaked leaves so since they aren't hurting for space I've opted to let them be so they can show me what they're made of

Pia and Ann thank you for all the lovely pictures! Makes me want to run out and buy more Junes. I took the liberty of writing to Kevin Walek about this question. I figured if a past AHS president and current registrar didn't know, then no one would. In answer he said there was only one registered Ju...

If I saw the one labelled type 4 and it had no label I would never even guess it was a June. Very different!!

Chris if you could only see the expression on my face

Thanks Sugar. I'll pass that on. That's pretty much what June does in my garden.

June question

A friend tells me there are 4 variations of June all using the same name and being acknowledged officially. Anyone know anything about this? I asked her if she meant sports of June but that wasn't it at all. She showed me the following link where 2 versions are mentioned http://www.choosingvoluntary...

George where do you find that? I've never seen it out this way. Pro Mix is hard enough to find.

It would be awesome if they did that Ginger! These plants were all put in last year so I'm very sorry to have to disturb them so early

Pia, George lives less than 2 hrs from me and manages so I think I can do this. There are reasons they have to be moved soon (getting a new roof and house getting painted). Once they're in pots I really don't want to disturb them again for a while. I figure this is already going to set them back som...

Hi Chris! You mentioned a "well-draining mix made of about 50% bark, 50% peat and no soil grew better roots and drained fast". Did you use this mix only in winter or year round for your potted plants? Learning from other people's experiences is what makes this site so great! That and saving me money...

Note to self- tip those pots back up before they start growing ! No I'm not fond of right angle hostas!

Okay I'll have to remember the pipe with poison since rodents are a way of life in the country. Freeze thaw cycles have been a BIG problem this winter.
